"There were two couples and we had two rooms. The facilities were outstanding!!! Extremely clean and beautifully maintained. The small kitchenette, fully equiped, in one of the rooms was just what we need for breakfast. It was well stocked with all sorts of teas, coffee and hot chocolate. The refrig gave us a place to store water and soft drinks and to keep fruit, milk, etc. Laundry facilities were also available. If we ever return to Alaska we will definitely stay there. We will also recommend to friends who are planning a trip."

  • 1 Bed Condo in Anchorage

"My husband, son and I stayed in the condo for a week. The unit has 1 bedroom with a pullout couch in the living room. Small kitchen that had everything we needed to accommodate our needs for the week. Place was clean. Owners were friendly. Check-in was easy. I had a problem on my end that I couldn't see my rental contract owner was quick in working with me and emailing it to me so that I could access it. Unit had cable TV. Don't expect to spend a lot of time on the internet as access is limited or make arrangements before hand (enough data to check email etc). Laundry on site. Unit isn't in the best part of town but we didn't have any issues. There is a convient store with in walking distance. Close to Kincaid park and the airport."

  • Like staying in a ski house

"If you stay in VRBO properties you know how much more fun and comfortable they can be. That is really true with this cozy house, where instead of views if the slopes you are next to a small air strip with planes parked below and the Cook Inlet in the distance. Out back, the dining view is to the local mountain range's O'Malley Peak and Flat Too. The furnishings are very relaxed and reflect the pilot owner's love of all things about flight! Don't stay in a Hotel or condo when you can stay here. And by the way if you come in the summer it's a short drive or brisk walk to Anchorage GC."

  • Greatest Experience

"We had the most wonderful time here. Mostly due to Rocky's homey condo and his gracious help and kindness. He made sure we were well provided for and had info on all kinds of things to do in Alaska. We had originally rented a car but canceled since we found no need for it. Visitors center was a block away. Short taxi to Fred Myer got us our groceries (condo was already well stocked and very homey!) Transportation to zoo, cruises,, etc., was just outside the front door and tour office just out the front door! Great places to eat and just walk to with a great jazz band at one of the Sat/Sun festivals just outside the door. Condo was clean, safe and well maintained. Our trip would have been a great trip but Rocky's help and genuine hospitality was the icing on the cake. Sorry he doesn't have more condos to rent out. He was a very big part of our trip and hope to stay in touch with him. Let him know if he's ever around our place, please let us know. Would be honored to have him as our GUEST!"

Anchorage Travel Tips

Stay in the Heart of the Wilderness at Anchorage Vacation Rentals

Anchorage, with its international airport, is the perfect place to serve as a base for an Alaskan vacation. As the modern world continually eats into the world’s wilderness areas, Alaska has managed to find a balance between the modern and wilderness. Because of this, there is no place quite like this anywhere on earth. Anchorage cabins are found around the 21st century city, in the heart of the wilderness.

Breathe in Clean Fresh air at Anchorage Cabins

Alaska is all about the great outdoors. Visitors to Anchorage vacation rentals come here for the experiences of real outdoor life. Many visitors find the variety of watersports a great part of their vacation. Don’t choose between racing down the river, clinging to the raft as it bounces through the rapids, or a leisurely paddle down a silent stretch of water surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of the wilderness while you search for otters. Do both! Then take a kayak out and go in search of the local Puffins. Whether you are a die-hard fisherman or have yet to try, pick up a rod and head out. Fishermen here throw back ones that elsewhere would get place of honor on the wall. There is over 34,000 miles of coast and endless rivers and lakes to try. The two main catches here are king salmon and halibut. Catching dinner is so much more fun than buying it at the grocery store.

From mild to wild, the skiing and hiking trails are designed to suit anyone. Gentle walks through the forests to mountain hikes where the reward is the stunning views, there is something for all. There area around Anchorage also has a wide variety of biking trails. There is also the unique experience of glacier hiking.

One of the best ways to really understand the beauty of the environment is to fly over it. For locals, it can be an everyday occurrence but for visitors, it is a once-in-a-lifetime trip.
