"This was my second time to stay at the Lucky Loon and it was just an fabulous as the first time. This property has EVERYTHING anyone could desire. The views from the wrap-around porch are amazing. Louise and Petr are fantastic hosts. They will do almost anything to make a person's stay spectacular. Be prepared to see whales, seals, deer, porcupine, eagles, sea lions, and all kinds of birds right at the cabin. If you time it right, you can even pick fresh berries for your breakfast. YUM! The town of Petersburg is not a tourist town. It is wonderful retreat from the hustle and bustle of life. You get a feel for what living in a fishing community is all about. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this property and about Petersburg. No one will be disappointed."

"Hoonah is a beautiful place to relax and enjoy island living in southeast Alaska. And Hoonah Hideout is a perfect place to stay. The kitchen is fully equipped. The knives are sharp too! We brought a car on the ferry from Juneau which helped us get around but the taxi service and lots of walking could work too. In town the roads are mostly paved on the main streets otherwise it is gravel and lots of them wandering all over Chichagof Island. The cabin has one bath with a shower. Washer and dryer and dishwasher. There is one bedroom with a queen bed on the main floor and a large sleeping loft with a queen bed and three twin beds. The ambiance is very Alaskan with pelts and antlers, cushy seating with many windows and a covered porch to enjoy the view of mountains, Eagles, woodpeckers and hummingbirds. A great base for hunting or fishing excursions or just relaxing at 20 mph. Helpful if you bring provisions from Juneau though the Hoonah Trading Co has a good hardware and groceries with frozen meat and some produce, eggs and milk."

"We have stayed at many VRBO properties but this was the best so far. This log cabin is nestled in an area surrounded by Alder trees showing their autumn foliage for us. The cabin was made with love and you can feel it as you enter beautiful logs, warm wood stove, comfortable furnishings, Dan and his wife make you feel at home, help you if needed ,but also allow your privacy to enjoy the Alaskan wilderness.
Many Thanks Dan & Lorre we loved every minute at your cabin"
