  • Quaint and comfortable home

"This house was so cute. It is decorated with many antiques and unique items. Yet it was very comfortable. We were so happy to have two bathrooms and to have the availability of laundry facilities. Plenty of room was available for two couples and our grandson to have privacy. Wandering in the garden was very relaxing. The flowers and the veggies were all beautiful. The view was beautiful-when the weather was clear! We were able to see down to the spit. The ride up was a little farther that we realized, but the view and accommodations were well worth it!! We would definitely stay there again!!"

  • AMAZING FAMILY CELEBRATION - 60TH B-DAY ADVENTURE

"Our family traveled to Homer Alaska to celebrate our father's 60th birthday with a family adventure trip! It was important that we selected the perfect house as a home base for our family dinners and a great property to explore and build wonderful memories we can treasure forever! This property and Catkin (and her family) exceeded our expectations. Everyone of our family had a wonderful time on the property and appreciated the time spent with some of the Kilchner family and the property caretaker. The property has wonderful views as well as some wonderful family history to experience. Catkin has done a nice job of paying attention to all details that make the cabin so comfortable - comfortable beds, warm and comfortable extra comforters and blankets and pillows! The kitchen is fully stocked and it was nice to have some items provided in the kitchen as a good start to the visit! Our family would highly recommend this property to anyone who is seeking an amazing property in Homer Alaska! I hope you are lucky enough to meet Catkin and her wonderful family!"

  • Amazing hospitality

"This place is covered with loving hospitality. It was not just a place to stay but a place that welcomed us the minute we walked in & we were able to call it home during our stay. I loved the art pieces arranged throughout the place. It was like living in a "I Spy" book every time you thought you saw everything something else would show up. Susan has the gift of hospitality & it was demonstrated throughout the place & when speaking with her. I definitely recommend this place, in all my travels it is rare to find a gem like this."

  • Nice Place; great views

"When we first pulled up to the house I was shocked; the pictures did not include the adjacent areas so the unkempt yards and homes next door took away from this home. It didn't help that the yard needed attention (tall grass and weeds were in abundance). The inside of the cabin was just as cute as the pictures, beds were comfy, but my husband did have trouble with the stairs & the multi levels upstairs and down. The stairs are very steep. I must have read on another site that there was a washer & dryer but this house does not have one available for use. I was also shocked by the limited supply of towels...we were staying for 3 days and were provided 3 towels for the two of us. We either had to share a fresh towel each day or re-use towels. No guest soap is included so don't forget to pack it! On the other hand there are plenty of windows with a great view of glaciers and the Homer Spit. We enjoyed our stay even though we had rain and had to put up with road construction to and from Homer."
