"This was a perfect location for our 2nd trip to Alaska making it easy to travel North or South by car or train. We came with another couple and we all loved the cabin. The accomodations were wonderful, comfortable beds, nice furniture, a beautiful kitchen and everything we needed to make us feel at home and the view was amazing! Your cabin was perfect and we can't wait to come back! Thanks Tammi!!!"Guest: Edward W. Date of Stay: September 2014 Review Submitted: September 19, 2014View listing
"We had dinner at Jack Sprat, which was a 3-4 minute walk from the home. Such an amazing experience! House is equipped with everything that you possibly need! From an awesome kitchen & dining area to a comfy living area & incredible rooms! There's also a fire pit outside and lots of seating area. Great place to entertain your guests! My fiancé loved it so much that he was bummed that we only booked it for one night. Overall, we had a fantastic time!"Guest: Diamond Date of Stay: May 2014 Review Submitted: May 26, 2014View listing

"Had a great weekend at this cozy, but roomy studio! Entire space was really comfortable and fireplace was nice! Great location; we walked to the moose meadow trails, the Bake Shop for breakfast, the day lodge for Oktoberfest, and Jack Sprat for dinner. I would definitely stay here again."Guest: Chris C. Girdwood Travel Tips
Girdwood Vacation Rentals Are for More than Just Wintertime
Girdwood is a ski resort in the Municipality of Anchorage, Alaska. It is situated in a valley of the Chugach Mountains, less than 40 miles southeast of the city of Anchorage with its international airport. It was originally a supply camp for local gold miners and named Glacier City, for the seven glaciers that surround it. While the area around Girdwood lodging is best known as a ski area, it is also a perfect summer vacation area for great outdoor activities.
Girdwood Cabins Allow for a Bird’s Eye View
There is so much to explore from Girdwood vacation rentals that visitors may wonder where to start. A great way to begin is to take a trip to the Seven Glaciers Restaurant. To get there, visitors should board the Alyska Tram. This aerial tramway includes a breathtaking ride up to the restaurant, and offers visitors the chance to take a bird’s eye view of the region in all its glory. Once visitors reach the top, they can explore the area by hiking on the glacier, picnicking or having lunch at the restaurant and then taking the tram back down. The ride itself takes just seven minutes and has been described as allowing for the best views of any U.S. ski resort. The more adventurous visitors may choose to paraglide back down!
Hike the Famous Crow Creek Trail from Girdwood Cabins
Girdwood cabins are perfect places to access the incredible outdoor activities that Alaska is famed for. Here, visitors will want to explore the famous Crow Creek Trail. This is part of the historic Iditarod Trail, taking you through some spectacular scenery. From here, visitors can try panning for gold at the Crow Creek Mine. The trail ends with four miles of open hillside along the Raven Glacier with its crystal clear lake. A less strenuous yet equally beautiful walk is Winter Creek Trail, which takes you through the incredible Alaskan rainforest. This trail welcomes walkers and bikers. Anglers will enjoy a trip to the Kenai River, which is just over an hour away by car. Visitors here will find great fishing or whitewater rafting on the river. Others may choose a scenic day of floating down the river. The whitewater rafting area is at Sixmile River, and there is another opportunity to float all day at Spencer Glacier. Those with a love of speed can jet boat down the remote area of Twenty Mile River. Take a cruise out on the Prince William Sound to view the marine life here. Visitors can enjoy many species of birds and mammals and may even be lucky enough to spot a whale or two.
Nature lovers will want to explore the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center. This wildlife refuge rescues orphaned or injured wildlife, and visitors can view the deer, moose, musk, bears and ox among the animals living here. It is a perfect place to take pictures of the wildlife since you are guaranteed to spot them.
Visitors may not expect the opportunity to indulge in some wonderful dining while in such a remote region but they will be delighted with the choice of restaurants here. There is everything from traditional American and wholly Alaskan cuisine to international cuisine such as the Japanese restaurant, Katsura Teppanyaki.
