  • Quaint and comfortable home

    "This house was so cute. It is decorated with many antiques and unique items. Yet it was very comfortable. We were so happy to have two bathrooms and to have the availability of laundry facilities. Plenty of room was available for two couples and our grandson to have privacy. Wandering in the garden was very relaxing. The flowers and the veggies were all beautiful. The view was beautiful-when the weather was clear! We were able to see down to the spit. The ride up was a little farther that we realized, but the view and accommodations were well worth it!! We would definitely stay there again!!"

  • Amazing place to stay!

    "Mike & Deb were wonderful hosts. The house was very well maintained with amazing views! Nice place to relax after a long day of fishing, hiking and sightseeing. Mike & Deb answered any questions we had. The affordability of the house enabled us to do/see more while we were there. It was nice not having to eat out all the time. We had four adults in our party and were very comfortable. We will definitely return next time we visit Alaska! Thanks Mike & Deb for amazing memories!"

  • Beautiful house!

    "My husband, sister and I stayed in the house for about a week while visiting Homer. The house was clean and the furniture was comfy...as well as the beds. Loved the big tile shower in the bathroom! There is a big beautiful kitchen that unfortunately it was not well equipped. We did notify the property management company that we had no large pots or large frying pan...and they responded quickly...sending someone out with a couple of items. Unfortunately, they brought a small saucepan and a 13 x 9 baking pan. He said it was all the local store had (which really was the case). Hopefully they will supply better inventory for future guests. We would have loved to do some cooking but were unable. The deck is great with a small table and two chairs...with another two Adirondak chairs. We also enjoyed the upstairs loft for board games and taking in more views. Laundry facilities were very useful and in good working order. The bedrooms do not have dressers...this wasn't a problem for the master bedroom as the closet has shelves. My sister had to put her clothes on the extra bed. There was a dresser up in the loft that would have been better if it were in the guest room. Plenty of closet space! We had a few really rainy days and would have loved to have a DVD player to watch a movie or two. Do not let the critiques scare you away! We would return to The Seaside Escape in a heartbeat! It is a beautiful house with awesome views....lots of brochures, Alaska magazines and books. Very convenient to the town."

  • Hospitality ++++++++++

    "You would think that the stars of the hit show "Alaska, The Last Frontier" would be stuffy, and standoffish. Nothing could be further than the truth. We found them to be friendly, accommodating and very patient with our starstruckness, (is that a word?) Although we wouldn't think of intruding on their privacy, when we did crosspaths with them they were amazingly gracious to us. Catkin, especially, was super kind to me and my gimpiness (sprained knee). She gave me a ride back to our amazing cabin with the most spectacular views. I have found my new "home" away from home in Homer Alaska."
