  • 5 Stars is not enough!

"This place easily deserves 10 stars! This is our 3rd year enjoying La Caleta and we've managed to bring a different couple with us each time. They were equally thrilled with the Cabin and all the amenities within. The weather this time around was the best yet with nearly 3 full days of sunshine and calm water for great boating and kayaking. We caught and ate fresh fish, beach-combed, took hundreds of photos, laid in the sun, enjoyed a few campfires, BBQ'd, played some guitar and enjoyed a hot sauna each night. I can't get enough of this place and I'm sure everyone that has had the pleasure of enjoying La Caleta would say the same thing. Thanks very much to Marcee and Willie once again for providing us with a wonderful summer vacation. You guys are such great hosts and we look forward to coming back again next year. To everyone else reading these reviews, go and check the place out for yourselves - I guarantee you will not be disappointed!"

  • Fish Camp

"I was pleased with this property and the amenities, they were just as I was expecting. The walls are pretty thin so the noise of the upstairs neighbors just walking around and going up and down the stairs was a little annoying."

  • Michigan friends have an awesome time!

"three couples from Michiganspent 10 days here. the house was very nice clean and accommodating to making it feel just like home. The river was easy to get to and very nice that we did not have to fight the crowd to fish. we could fish at anytime and we are taking home over 250 pounds of fish! I would definitely recommend these accommodations!"

  • Beautifully appointed, great location!

"Our family of five loved staying in the "Bunk House" for a weeklong stay in Cooper Landing. The pictures simply don't do the house justice...it's soooooo much nicer in person! :-) As others have stated, the beds are VERY comfortable, and the kitchen is a dream to cook in. We grilled our salmon on the great porch with views of the Kenai River running past. The bathrooms were very spacious, although it might be easy to miss the 1st floor bathroom (take note!). Of course, we also loved having the washer/dryer to use (huge capacity), and really enjoyed the collection of DVDs and CDs (great taste!). A few notes: the beds are all twins, except for one room with a double and twin. Also: there is NO wifi, and the cell service coverage is dismal (I couldn't get any internet connection from my phone, although I could text and call). We ended up driving up to the Princess Lodge (5 mins away) each day for about an hour to use their free wifi to check on email, Facebook, etc. and it was nice to be internet-free anyway!!!! ;-) Thanks to the very sweet and helpful Danette and Adam, our caretakers, who were awesome, too. (Adam is a fishing guide and you can book with him, or he will help you arrange for a tour with the best guides in town.)"
