  • You won't be disappointed!

"We stayed at Kenai Peninsula Suites for 3 nights, 2 nights in Their log yurt, Puffin, and the Otter for one. Both cabins are new, clean and beautiful! Puffin especially was a cool design and is two level. The location of all cabins is amazing with a beautiful view of mountains and even volcanoes across the bay! The hot tub was super clean. It is a short drive from town and a fun hike, homestead trail, is just down the road. This is a well run and managed place and you won't be disappointed."

  • Rustic Alaskan beauty

"The Kilcher Homestead cabin was the answer to what we were looking for, wildlife, glaciers, peace and quiet, fun and laughs. We had beach fires everyday and ended up cooking our dinners over an open flame nightly. The cabin was adorable and met our needs totally. The wood burning, old but beautiful, worked for breakfasts and the percolator coffee was fun and brought back memories of my childhood. Everything was there that we needed and we just brought what food and beverage we thought we would want. The atv ride to the cabin was a great intro to a great place, thanks for having us. My wife, my son and I loved our stay."

  • Wonderful Escape to the Kenai Peninsula

"My wife and I spent four days on the ground floor of this beautiful house in August of 2014. It was a B & B arrangement as the owner, David, was living upstairs on the third floor. Plenty of comfort and privacy. Great to have David on site as he was helpful with advice about exploring the area and fishing. The large fishing platform below the house was fantastic. Make sure to bring a few days worth of groceries and other items unless you want to drive the 17 to 20 miles into Soldotna each day- although there is a small (limited) general store, just four miles down the road. Relax on the deck, catch the afternoon sun, and grill the catch of the day. Then sit around the fire pit at night and watch the stars while listening to the river roll on by. Paradise in Alaska!"

  • One of the best vacation spots of our lives!

"I can't imagine a vrbo more perfect for us than Little Fireweed Cottage. The owners were very easy to work with from start to finish. We are two couples in their 50s & 60s. One has some physical impairments, so our only suggestion would be grab-bars and non-slip decals for the bathtub. She did take a tumble during our stay. This was an ideal vacation spot ... close to everything, yet private. No traffic noise. There were adjoining properties, but the most we saw or heard were "children" noises from down the hill, and only during the day. Very faint, no problem. Wildflower, native grass "lawn," just like we have at our lakehouse in northern Wisconsin. We had moose in the yard, nearly every night. I suspect there aren't bears in the area, as the garbage bin at the end of the driveway went undisturbed. We were less than a half-mile from the Down East Saloon and liquor store. Check out open-mic night. FUN! Got some pointers while there, on where to dine in Anchorage on our way home. Only a mile or two from the Old Town Area and entrance to the spit. From the deck, the view includes a bit of Beluga Lake, the Homer airport, the bay and the mountains! Imagine sitting in the hot tub at the end of the day with a glass of wine, watching the everchanging lightshow on the distant peaks ... Close to the museums, nature trails, the Bear Creek Winery and a paved walk that runs to Old Town. New washer/dryer was nice to have. Ample towel supply, great bedding, comfortable mattresses, especially if you like them on the softer side. They've added room-darkening shades in the bedrooms. Adequate storage. Nice supply of 'left-behind' spices, dishware, utensils and cooking supplies ... even Panko for our halibut and salmon. Could use more kitchen storage containers like Rubbermaid. Clean, comfortable, close to everything, private and a hot tub. What more could you ask for? Perhaps the perfect weather (no rain) we had, and no mosquitoes. The only "skeeters" we saw were on the trails at the Wynn Nature Center. Don't forget to take a sidetrip up Skyline Drive ... what a view. We rented the Cottage for eight days. Ten would have been perfect. So I guess we must return, eh? If we ever return to Alaska for a third vacation, we'd pick the Cottage again. Homer was a great town, from walking on the beach, museums, restaurants (including Hobo Jim's show at AJ's Old Towne Steakhouse), nature trails, the dock-creatures tour for $5, several visits to Salty Dog, boat excursions, etc."
