  • Great Cozy Cabin!

"Great cozy cabin to stay in Hope. The cabin is extremely clean, and Jeannine is very friendly and responsive to e-mails and texts. Tasty breakfast is provided -- bagels, orange juice, milk, cream cheese, and more. In unit washer / drier was great as well. Please don't hesistate to book -- recommended and would stay at again in a heart-beat. Thanks Jeannine!"

  • Very clean, comfortable, and relaxing.

"I have rented many places through VRBO and other rental sites/agencies...this was by far the cleanest and most well-planned. From the reservation packet to touches like q-tips in a pretty box, I felt like I knew what to expect and like my needs were anticipated. I brought my dog with me, which was a rental first for me and I appreciated that I felt like the house could stand up to a little "pet abuse" thanks to the strong carpet and easily cleaned entry way. (But if you don't have pets, don't think this seems like an overrun pet rental. I would never guess that it was pet friendly if I booked it without my dog due to its cleanliness and good condition.) Plus, the neighborhood dogs made my dog feel very welcome and when she ran off once, the neighbors themselves had no problem with the extra porch guest they had. I think they thought I was funny for worrying that she was bothering them. I loved sitting on the porch and watching the blue jays hassle the smaller birds, the squirrels making the trees their playgrounds, and the hummingbirds creating their magic. The kitchen was easy to cook in and clean, the beds were very comfortable, and the location of the cabin was convenient. Add in how easy the owners made it to book (and later adjust) the reservation, and I would not hesitate to book again or to encourage my friends and family to do the same. I have visited Seward many times and have two general suggestions: Le Barn Appetit for amazing crepes and an entertaining host, and the Sealife Center."

  • Nice Place !

"Great place to get away and see the entire Kenai Peninsula. We were able to fish and sight see from Homer to Seward without having to change property or have an unreasonable drive. The metal walkway to the river was very nice as was the fishing motif for the house decorations. The house was very clean and the owners stocked the refrigerator with all the little things that we usually forget. They also had some things like frozen Pizza and Bacon & Eggs available so we didn't have to eat out when we first got in (which was late of course), nice touch! There had been some large fires earlier in the year which had thrown the area into some confusion. Apparently this had effected some of the upgrades that had been planned and the owner had had to do some maintenance while we were there. They were very considerate and worked around our schedule. Aside from seeing some building materials in the driveway it really didn't affect us at all. One thing we did notice was that the area water is from wells and the forest in which the house is located seems to have a lot of tannins, this gives the water a slight taste, the owned showed us the filtered drinking water system which we used for all drinking water after that."

  • Saved the best for last!

"This lodging truly was crafted with love and an eye for detail. The cabin and furnishings were in their natural habitat. Every time we looked around we saw something new and unique. The owner/builder has a God given talent of looking at a piece of wood and crafting it into either functional furniture or trim. It was clean and neat; well maintained; kitchen utensils well stocked; cereal, coffee, tea, condiments in the cupboards; refrigerator had orange juice and milk stocked; gas grill on the deck; an easy walking path to the river with two benches waiting to be used. Excellent quality bedding and linens. Four senior couples enjoyed a brief, but too short stay; definitely will return if the opportunity arises."
