  • More Than Expected!

"My family of 6 stayed here for a week from May 24-May 30th. It was amazing. The beds are super comfortable, the kitchen had everything from a crock pot to a waffle maker! This is a great location for day trips to Ancorage, Seward, Kenai, Saldonta and Homer. All of which we visited. The cabin is spotlessly clean and very well kept. The major grocery store is about 15 minutes away in Soldotna. There is a Super Walmart 30 minutes away in Kenai. Be sure to visit Skilak Lake Road! We saw black bears, brown bears, moose and bald eagles. I recommend going early morning or later at night. The owner, David, went above and beyond to assist our family with our vacation rental needs!"

  • A Heavenly Haven in Homer

"Homer is a very special place, and staying in this house made our stay even more so. The house, as described, is on the edge of town. It’s well stocked, welcoming, and very comfortable. There are thoughtful little touches, like nice big mugs for coffee and tea. Its most amazing feature is the breathtaking view from the LR, deck, and upstairs bathroom. It’s awe-inspiring, like watching a living painting, with changing light and cloud formations throughout the day. On the day we left, we watched a fin whale feeding in the Inlet just below the house. We would have been content to spend many hours on the deck or in the living room just gazing, but Homer has much to offer. We don’t fish, but certainly enjoyed eating the abundant and very fresh salmon and halibut. Favorite restaurants were Café Cups, Little Mermaid (on the Spit), and Wasabi (for the view, especially) (reservations needed for restaurants). Our bear viewing trip to Katmai was cancelled due to weather, so as a substitute adventure we took a float plane across the Bay to the State Park and hiked back to the coast from a sub-alpine lake. On the water taxi ride back, we saw a pod of Orca whales, a seal, puffins and kittiwakes, and sea otters. Some of our days were rainy, but that was OK. The Inlet Bookstore and Mermaid Café are great; we also learned a lot about the local ecology at the Alaska Islands and Ocean Visitors Center. Homer has some of the highest tides in the world, almost 30 feet. It’s fun to walk on Bishop’s Beach and look for rocks as the tide changes, with the snow covered peaks and glaciers in the distance. We hope to go back to Homer and if we do, we absolutely would stay again at Holly’s “Heavenly Haven!”"

  • Homer's Best

"I would absolutely recommend this property to anyone who would enjoy a spacious and clean home with views to die for. This place was everything we could have asked for, including well-appointed kitchen for cooking our catch at the end of the day. I would stay in this property again (and again) without hesitation."

  • ESPÉRANT Y REVENIR UN JOUR!!! HOPE TO COME AGAIN!!! THE BEST THAT WE EVER RENTED

We appreciate so much this place. Such a nice green river just in front where we could fish. It was a real show to see the fish jump all over the place. The proximity of every place we visited from Seward to Homer. The commodities in the cottage, like home and more. We were two couples and had each our own space being on two levels. Great!!! It was clean and spacy. Confortable beds. Great great place!!!"
