  • Nice Place !

"Great place to get away and see the entire Kenai Peninsula. We were able to fish and sight see from Homer to Seward without having to change property or have an unreasonable drive. The metal walkway to the river was very nice as was the fishing motif for the house decorations. The house was very clean and the owners stocked the refrigerator with all the little things that we usually forget. They also had some things like frozen Pizza and Bacon & Eggs available so we didn't have to eat out when we first got in (which was late of course), nice touch! There had been some large fires earlier in the year which had thrown the area into some confusion. Apparently this had effected some of the upgrades that had been planned and the owner had had to do some maintenance while we were there. They were very considerate and worked around our schedule. Aside from seeing some building materials in the driveway it really didn't affect us at all. One thing we did notice was that the area water is from wells and the forest in which the house is located seems to have a lot of tannins, this gives the water a slight taste, the owned showed us the filtered drinking water system which we used for all drinking water after that."

  • Long Term Stay

"We occupied this unit for a longer stay than the average visitor to Anchorage as it was our temporary housing while moving to the area. The unit is quite large, especially for a vacation rental - much larger than any hotel room you would find. It is stocked with all the basics that you would require while visiting Alaska and very clean. Both bedrooms are large and the Master Bedroom, which is outfitted with a King Size bed, has a private Master Bath. This makes sharing the unit with multiple people much more comfortable than your standard hotel room. Plenty of towels, blankets & bedding. Full size washer & dryer should you stay long enough to require it. The location is perfect! Right near major roads for driving anywhere to explore Alaska yet within easy walking distance of downtown and the ocean. Lovely park nearby with great trails to explore as well. It is also located on a smaller side street so there is limited traffic on your road, you feel tucked away and private! Curling up near the gas fireplace on cool evenings makes everything seem warm & cozy! The owner and our hostess for this property is a lovely woman who does what she can to help your stay be all that you were expecting. She went above and beyond to help us out with several situations and we felt privileged to get to know her while renting this unit. We felt like she actually cared about the quality of our stay and that all of our needs were met. This made our relocation experience much easier and as though she was our official welcoming committee for the state of Alaska. If you want to "live like a local" or have the benefit of privacy, this is a great unit to accomplish just that."

  • Comfortable and Cozy!

"Cottonwood Corner guest house was a wonderful home base for our extended family of seven. Very comfortable in every way and we enjoyed sitting by the fire in the evenings. The children played in the large yard and we all enjoyed the birds, flowers and fresh veggies from the garden boxes. Of course, Tillie was a bonus! Seward is great for so many outdoor activities. We did some great hikes, fishing and a day cruise. It was nice to come "home" after a busy day to cook and relax. Thank you for a happy and memorable stay!"

  • 1st Trip to Alaska!

"Condo was excellent; Kimberly was Excellent! She really helped us get settled after an unexpected delay of sitting on tarmac at air force base for hours. We were exhausted, & she moved to get condo ready & helped us w/luggage. Loved being on the backside with views of woods/mountains. Only issue was that hot tub was fixed temp., & too hot for me, so did not get to enjoy it. Would consider renting here again. Not for people w/disabilities though - showers not easy for that."
