  • JUST PERFECT!!!

"My husband and I stayed for 4 nights Aug. 12-16, 2014 and this was our home away from home. It was so nice to return from a full day of sightseeing or hiking to this quiet little cabin to wind down. The French doors to the back deck looking out on the woods and mountain made it seem that we had a little piece of Alaska all to ourselves. The location was GREAT and only a mile and a half from the main road to stores, excursions, fishing. The lake was a just a short walk away and you could even take a short stroll to one of the major resorts and dine in their restaurant. This was especially nice after a long day. We didn't spend a lot of time at the cabin and mostly used it for evening showers, sleeping and breakfast but it had everything we needed and was very well equipped an well kept. If you plan on cooking, it is best to purchase groceries in Anchorage (if you are coming through there) as the local stores are small and may not have everything you need. Even though we only used the downstairs bedroom, the upstairs loft had another double and twin bed which looked very comfy (but open to living area downstairs). The photos provided are a good representation of the cabin. This cabin and its somewhat central location was a perfect fit for us as it made our trip to the Kenai Peninsula memorable as we ventured out to the ends of the road at Homer, Captain Cooks State Park north of Kenai, Seward and Whittier. Staying in this particular location made these manageable day trips with some hiking of the local trails. Words cannot do justice to the spectacular scenery around every corner. The weather was a little rainy but we came prepared due to the time of year and we didn't let a little rain slow us down. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cabin and in the area. Thank you for making it available to tourists! We are talking about returning with friends and family and will definitely check to see if the cabin will be available. PS: Don't bring charcoal, it is a gas grill. We had a chuckle when we added our bag to the 2 others left by previous guests."

  • Great base for Kenai pennisula fun

"Our family including 3 children in their 20s enjoyed 4 nights at this cabin this August. The rooms we spacious and nicely decorated. The kitchen was functional for making 3 meals a day. It was stocked with many spices and condiments for our use. Internet was great. Steve was very helpful, lighting an outdoor bonfire every night that we had clear weather which was often. Due to flooding, we did not have views of the river because of a gravel berm that was built for water control. That was no problem, we climbed the berm for great views."

  • Great house!

"I loved this vacation house. It truly looks like the pictures. We rented the larger boat and had a blast. They took my husband and boys fishing . They caught halibut and crab. One morning on the boat we saw an orca whale and it's baby. Hiking was great on ketchikan. We are come back again. Would love to live there."

  • Amazing place - good price

"This place blew me away. Every detail appears thought out from the huge stacks of tourist guides, to the phenomenal locally roasted coffee, to the extra towels by the door to the hot tub and even the spare emergency rain jackets. Everything is sparkling clean, very well maintained, well thought out, and then there is the view.... I actually can't describe the view, you can see the picture, but that is a bit like having someone tell you what chocolate tastes like. Try this place out just for the view. Except for the one rainy night, we watched gorgeous sunsets reflected onto the bay, the mountains, and the glaciers from the patio. I highly recommend this place to anyone!!!!"
