There are several places in Alaska where you can go whitewater rafting on grade IV and V rapids. Be prepared for the ride of your life on the churning white waters. For paddlers, there are many kayaking opportunities. You can also test your skills in the white waters or opt for something a little more leisurely up the fjords or along the coast. In season, you can experience amazing whale, dolphin and orca sightings and get up close to these magnificent creatures of the sea. There are endless hiking opportunities in Alaska. Serious mountaineers travel to Alaska each year to conquer Denali which is North America’s tallest peak. Alaska also has a rich gold mining history and many of the museums tell tales of the early gold pioneers.
