"Gold mine museum was a short walk up the hill, and well worth the trip. House was great for us. It was older, clean, and very comfortable with a great view. Getting up the hill is a challenging hike. The owner was very helpful."Guest: TOBI Date of Stay: July 2014 Review Submitted: August 4, 2014View listing
"Our 15 person hockey team stays here every year for the local Palmer hockey tournament. The host is soooo wonderful and kind. He checks in and makes sure everything is working, he woke up early to de-ice the walk, and had firewood prepared for a cozy fire. We always have a wonderful time - the open layout allows people to be working in the kitchen but still part of the group. The rooms are very quiet and it easily sleeps our whole team. The surroundings are beautiful and if you like horses you will get quite a treat!"Guest: The Divas Date of Stay: December 2014 Review Submitted: December 17, 2014View listing
"We had the most wonderful time here. Mostly due to Rocky's homey condo and his gracious help and kindness. He made sure we were well provided for and had info on all kinds of things to do in Alaska. We had originally rented a car but canceled since we found no need for it. Visitors center was a block away. Short taxi to Fred Myer got us our groceries (condo was already well stocked and very homey!) Transportation to zoo, cruises,, etc., was just outside the front door and tour office just out the front door! Great places to eat and just walk to with a great jazz band at one of the Sat/Sun festivals just outside the door. Condo was clean, safe and well maintained. Our trip would have been a great trip but Rocky's help and genuine hospitality was the icing on the cake. Sorry he doesn't have more condos to rent out. He was a very big part of our trip and hope to stay in touch with him. Let him know if he's ever around our place, please let us know. Would be honored to have him as our GUEST!"Guest: Diann V. "This condo was the perfect location to explore Anchorage and to take day trips from. We saved a lot of money by having a full kitchen, where everything worked. Shopping was two minutes away at Walmart and less than 15 minutes to almost all downtown locations. The condo was clean and set up so the bedrooms were away from the living room and kitchen allowing quiet for late sleepers in the family. We had no problems during our stay and would stay there again if we visit Anchorage."Guest: Gabe Date of Stay: July 2014 Review Submitted: July 30, 2014View listing

Getting to Alaska Vacation Rentals
Most people will fly to Alaska; the primary airport hub is in Anchorage. During the summer months, there are direct daily flights between Anchorage and other major United States cities such as Denver, Minneapolis St. Paul, Portland, Salt Lake City, Dallas Ft. Worth, Atlanta, Seattle and San Francisco. From Canada, there are frequent flights from Vancouver and Toronto. Alaska is popular vacation destination for travelers from Europe and the Far East. Sometimes if the area you are visiting is more remote, you will need to travel by seaplane or ferry to get there. The road and rail network in Alaska is limited by the rugged glacial terrain but still provides good access to most major towns and tourist attractions. Activities and Attractions at Alaska Cabins
Alaska is an adventure and outdoor haven which may be surprising to some, considering the cold climate the state experiences. In both summer and winter, there are a host of great activities that can keep you occupied on your travels. Wherever you go, you will want to take your camera with you to capture the action and great scenery. Some of the great winter attractions are the Northern Lights and the Aurora Borealis. This natural light phenomenon is amazing to see. Alaska has a number of top-quality ski resorts that offer downhill and cross country skiing. Many have snowboarding terrain parks and fun ski schools for kids. Snowmobiles are commonly used to get around in the winter months. It is a popular sport too.
The more traditional way to explore the countryside is by dog sledding. The dogs are superbly trained and exceptionally fast. This is an amazing experience. There are several places in Alaska where you can go whitewater rafting on grade IV and V rapids. Be prepared for the ride of your life on the churning white waters. For paddlers, there are many kayaking opportunities. You can also test your skills in the white waters or opt for something a little more leisurely up the fjords or along the coast. In season, you can experience amazing whale, dolphin and orca sightings and get up close to these magnificent creatures of the sea. There are endless hiking opportunities in Alaska. Serious mountaineers travel to Alaska each year to conquer Denali which is North America’s tallest peak. Alaska also has a rich gold mining history and many of the museums tell tales of the early gold pioneers.
