"We loved this cabin, we didn't stay in the cabin shown but it was similar by the same owner. The bed is very comfortable, and its close to fools hallow lake, and some trails. The kitchen was fully equipped, but we couldn't find the cutting board, so we went to safeway (couple miles away) to buy one. Overall, it was a great mini-vacation."

"Great cabin in a very quiet, yet convenient area. Well stocked with cooking appliances, utensils, and other supplies. Plenty of room for my two young sons to play and explore. Fantastic and responsive owner!! What more could you ask for? The perfect place!"

"My husband and I took our dogs up for long weekend to celebrate our anniversary. We have visited before and it was just as wonderful as ever! The cabin was so inviting and clean, with great views of the forest and wildlife. We couldn't have asked for better weather. We were able to take short drives down the highway to visit Blue Ridge Reservoir and East Clear Creek. Adventuring all day and coming back to the cabin to relax on the deck is a great way to spend the days! They supplied everything and anything you would need except your meals. The dogs love it up there just as much as we did! I strongly recommend planning a visit to Elk in the Pines, I only wish we could have stayed longer!"

"The property of this cabin is very private and feels secluded. It's a beautiful wintertime setting although it was a bit challenging to drive from Phoenix as the snow was accumulating. 4WD is a must if it snows.
If you want a quiet, comfortable, secluded getaway, this is it! The kitchen and bathroom have been renovated and are modern while the cabin has an overall feel of rustic, historic charm. The gas fireplace on one end and stone wood burning fireplace on the other end of the cabin kept us toasty warm. The cabin was clean and well stocked. The queen bed was comfortable. There was a TV/VCR combo (couldn't get reception but that was fine by us) and a decent video library as well as book library. Bring games and enjoy life without internet - my Verizon phone had no internet service but good phone and texting connections in the cabin. Bring everything you need because there's no grocery store, although there is a small convenient store and gas station in town. There is a good restaurant but it has limited hours. We enjoyed cooking and grilling meals at the cabin.
It was a wonderfully relaxing 3-day getaway location with my significant other and dachshund. Many, many thanks to the property manager for her assistance in helping us navigate the winter driving conditions on day of arrival and accommodating us when the pipes froze for a short while. (We learned to let the water trickle from the faucet at night.) It was so comforting to know we had a good contact in this remote area in case we needed assistance. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely return."
