"We rented this cabin for a weekend away from it all and had a FANTASTIC time. My daughters are teens, and we also foster two little girls, 4 and 6. The older ones wanted to 'feel like we're out in the woods' and we chose Whispering Pines. We never had the tv or computer on once, and the teens had left their cellphones at home. What a relaxing time we had; campfires, walks both up the road and in the dry creek bed, hikes to Waterwheel Waterfall, the ruins, and trips to the fish hatchery, Fossil Creek Creamery and Pine. We also lounged and read in the comfy chairs on the large fully-covered deck. The 4 and 6 year olds wanted to be outside in the yard the entire time. The cabin had fresh linens, comfortable beds and clean bathrooms and kitchen. The kitchen had the basics covered. We just planned a simple menu and brought all we needed so no trips to the grocery store. The cabin was very comfortable and relaxing for us, without being super-fancy, very family-friendly. Oh, did I mention the dogs had a great time also? I crated them on the porch, when we would leave the cabin and couldn't take them, and at night, as they are inside/outside dogs when at home in Phoenix. They loved to roll and play in the grass, being from a dirt 1 1/4 acre yard here at home. They are all about 40lbs, and the youngest tried to get through the metal gate but one rattle of it and she decided to leave it alone the rest of the weekend. Thanks for allowing us to stay in your cabin. We will rent again!"

  • Incredible

"If you are looking for an amazing experience, this is the place to go. My husband's family and my family spent 5 days here. It was everything I had hoped. The pictures don't do it justice. Everyone had a place to go, always fun things to do. We caught fish, played volleyball, ran on the lawn, curled up by the fire and the Christmas tree to watch movies, fed 25 people Thanksgiving dinner. Had plenty of room and storage. For two family's staying together for the very first time, it was perfect! We are already planning on re-booking. Thank you Mark for everything! What a blessed experience!"

  • great to get the family together

"Everyone had a great time from the two year old to the 78 year old grandma. The two year old mastered the stair very quickly and the six year old love the porch that went around the house. There was plenty of room for every one to have their privacy as well as hang out together. My son took his nephew hiking just around the property and they had a great time. We also hike the natural bridge which is a short drive away. I was very proud of myself when i made it to the bridge hadn't hiked in years. A little sore the next day but the beds were so comfortable that I hardly noticed. The kitchen was great, the men cooked so I didn't have to anything but supervise. We took this short vacation because my niece was getting married and it was very beautiful. The next time we would like to stay at least a week. I liked getting up in the morning and enjoying the cool air and the beautiful view from the porch. Not to mention the quietness of the morning. I think it was one of the most relaxing, exciting, and fun vacation I have had in a long time and very much needed. Next year we will have one more addition to the family and there will still be room for more in the castle. If I could give it more than 5 stars I would. The property owner were very accommodating and understanding of our needs. Thanks so much, Had a great time!!! Sorry the review took so long but it was back to the rush of life that I didn't miss at all when we were there."

  • Already planning our return...

"My family and I stayed at Anita's Creekside Haven for 3 nights this past week and had a wonderful time. The house is clean, cozy and has a lot of space to spread out in. The kitchen is large and has everything you need to make a complete meal, which we did several times. Forget the inside for a moment because it is the outside, specifically the rear deck that sets this house apart. It is HUGE and runs the entire length of the house. The creek runs by just below the deck, maybe 15' to 20' away. We spent most of our time here listening to the creek and watching the birds and squirrels. The fire pit was very nice during the chilly autumn nights. Speaking of autumn, the trees all around the property and neighborhood were a palette of colors that no artist could recreate. This is the place to come for fall foliage. The house is a perfect base for outdoor exploration. We fished at the nearby lakes of Woods Canyon and Willow Springs. We went on several hikes including the See Spring Trail which goes to the headwaters of Christopher Creek. Anita's Creekside Haven was a great place to come "home" to after these adventures and we will definitely be back. Thanks Anita!"
