  • Whetstone family annual vacation

"This is our second year having a family vacation week all together here with all our kids, grandkids and this year our first great grand child. We really enjoy the time we have here and it is a great time for the family to bond. The views are spectacular, the home is very comfortable and homey. There is room for all to have a good time and yet there are places one can go to have a little quiet time. The home is well stocked and well furnished. The family is already looking forward to next year already."

  • Stop looking! You just found your new favorite family gathering spot.

"I canont say enough AMAZING things about this house. We just had a family reunion, all in total 21 people. My family came from all over the country, we stayed for a week. First off we re-named the house "ELK LODGE" you will see them almost everyday on the property. Usually 3- 12. We could not have been more comfortable. Plenty of space to enjoy family game night, family dinner and hang out time. Also, plenty of places to go around a corner, roam the other side of the upstairs porch and have a little quite time away from the family noise. My husband and I enjoyed several hours in solitude on the hammock. The porch wraps around on 3 sides. Downstairs you have a large covered patio. All in total you probably have comfortable outdoor seating for 100, along with several nice outdoor tables to eat at. We had one little three year old, 2 teenager, 3 in their 20's and the rest well above 40 -75. Lots of things to do, play pool, darts, tether ball and basket ball. Fishing in the pond and two lower tables perfect for game playing. The teenagers loved the downstairs TV room. It was their Private group hang out spot. The house was so big and comfortable I would find my older aunts and uncles napping on the comfy couch, sending e mails from the executive desk or watching all the cooking from the quiet little breakfast nook. Last but not least I booked the house, I'm a bit of a travel snob. The house surpassed my expectations for beauty, location and overall occomidations. Mark was great to work with. My family has been meeting every three years for reunions over the last 40 years. This was hands down the best spot. For the first time in my life...no one was ready to go home."

  • Phenomenal

"My husband and I had a wonderful time at this cabin. It is just as it is described. The location is off beaten path which is exactly what we were looking for, it is also very tranquil and peaceful. The kitchen is stocked with every amenity necessary. The shower is fabulous, it is so big that we felt like we were at home!! The weather was beautiful and the mountain views were awesome. We were so relaxed during our stay that we were ready to get back to the grind when we got home. If you are looking for quiet, calm and relaxing, this is the place. Thank you to our hosts for providing us with such a wonderful time away from it all. I have been sharing my thoughts with all of my coworkers and recommending this cabin to everyone we know."

Payson Travel Tips

Complete Your Arizona Adventure with a Stay in Payson Rentals

Plan a visit to Payson, Arizona this season and enjoy the sunny skies and year-round outdoor activity. Payson rentals offer easy access to three local national forests, plenty of water sports and even unique trail tours for the entire family to enjoy.

Choose Payson Rentals and Schedule a Tour

During your stay in Payson cabins, plan on taking at least one guided tour through one of the three area national forests--Coconino, Sitgreaves or Tonto. Consider horseback riding through the wilderness and pack a lunch to make the day more comfortable, or simply take a hike one afternoon as one of the "must-do" activities on Arizona vacations.

Enjoy the Weather in Your Payson Cabins

Payson rentals are popular in winter months for any traveler looking for an escape from cold weather elsewhere. Take the family on a canoe tour on one of the local rivers or lakes, and make sure you’re able to fit in a round of golf or two during your stay. Boating and fishing are also popular on the Apache Lake that is formed by the Horse Mesa Dam near your Payson cabins. Many Arizona vacations simply aren’t complete without a scenic drive through the forests, so ensure you’re able to take advantage of the local scenery, too.

Arizona Vacations Are Packed with Adventure

If the kids are slightly older, consider booking an adventure backpacking tour with Just Roughin’ It. This company guides you from your Payson rentals into the Arizona outback via a combination of hiking, backpacking and kayaking. These trips may take as long as seven days to complete before returning to your Payson cabins. Including one of these tours in any of your Arizona vacations means you’ll gain access to little-known locations and fun activities during your stay.
