  • Better than expected!

"After reading multiple reviews, I settled on a King's Castle for our family's quick vacation during October break. We were not disappointed. The owners were fabulous to work with and the entire process from checkin to checkout was a breeze. We loved that the location was only an hour and a half from the East Valley of Phoenix and only 10 minutes from downtown Payson. This cabin has a prime location and we enjoyed eating and hanging out on the wrap around porches taking in the beautiful scenery and the fresh air. The kids loved the outdoor activities (ladder ball, Cornhole, horseshoes-we didn't use the outdoor fireplace) and we spent a lot of time exploring and hiking on the fascinating rock formations up the hill behind the cabin. When it rained, there was plenty to do indoors with Wi-Fi, Direct-TV, a movie collection, board games, air hockey, etc. The interior of the home is beautiful and tastefully decorated. It still has a new feel to everything and the owners have done a good job of maintaining it. Sleeping accommodations were very comfortable and the kitchen and family areas more than adequate. With a toddler, we appreciated the pack-n-play portable crib and high chair included. Since we were only there for a short while, we did not do much away from the cabin other than a grocery run to Walmart in Payson. Without a doubt we would consider returning and highly recommend the property to anyone looking for a nice place to stay that can sleep 10 comfortably."

  • Good place right in Payson

"We wanted to be right in Payson, rather than in the outlying areas like Christopher Creek. It was very quiet although it was located in town, in a shady residential cul-de-sac. The house is an older house that has been extensively renovated, especially the kitchen and living area. Most of the living area is upstairs, although our kids had fun playing pool in the large downstairs room. The house was very clean and well-maintained. We stayed for almost two weeks and the only thing that needed doing was replacing a light bulb (which we did with bulbs the owners had on hand). The washer-dryer and dishwasher worked like charms. The second floor deck was very pleasant. The price was quite reasonable for what we got. Our only complaint--minor--was that the bedrooms and living area were a little dark for reading (we read a lot), especially at night. A floor lamp in the living area and maybe a table lamp or two would fix that. Overall I'd give it a good thumbs-up!"

  • Comfortable, convenient home with wildlife !!

"The deck overlooks Christopher Creek and attacks wildlife: birds ( red-headed woodpeckers, Steller jays) a squirrel, and a deer who takes up residence across the creek in September. The highlight of our trip was putting out peanuts in shells and watching them disappear !! The bedrooms and bathrooms are very large. All-in-all a very comfortable home hear hiking."

  • Beautiful Get A Way

"We went to this cabin for a 3 day weekend to get away from the city. We went with 4 teens who are normally chained to their cell phones. There was so much to do in the cabin alone. We played pool, ping pong, sat by the wood stove, enjoyed the deck and the views, took walks in the woods. It was such a nice escape from the city life. All of our children enjoyed the weekend very much. We will definitely be back. The cabin was cozy and comfortable. We have and will continue to recommend this cabin to friends and family."

Payson Travel Tips

Complete Your Arizona Adventure with a Stay in Payson Rentals

Plan a visit to Payson, Arizona this season and enjoy the sunny skies and year-round outdoor activity. Payson rentals offer easy access to three local national forests, plenty of water sports and even unique trail tours for the entire family to enjoy.

Choose Payson Rentals and Schedule a Tour

During your stay in Payson cabins, plan on taking at least one guided tour through one of the three area national forests--Coconino, Sitgreaves or Tonto. Consider horseback riding through the wilderness and pack a lunch to make the day more comfortable, or simply take a hike one afternoon as one of the "must-do" activities on Arizona vacations.

Enjoy the Weather in Your Payson Cabins

Payson rentals are popular in winter months for any traveler looking for an escape from cold weather elsewhere. Take the family on a canoe tour on one of the local rivers or lakes, and make sure you’re able to fit in a round of golf or two during your stay. Boating and fishing are also popular on the Apache Lake that is formed by the Horse Mesa Dam near your Payson cabins. Many Arizona vacations simply aren’t complete without a scenic drive through the forests, so ensure you’re able to take advantage of the local scenery, too.

Arizona Vacations Are Packed with Adventure

If the kids are slightly older, consider booking an adventure backpacking tour with Just Roughin’ It. This company guides you from your Payson rentals into the Arizona outback via a combination of hiking, backpacking and kayaking. These trips may take as long as seven days to complete before returning to your Payson cabins. Including one of these tours in any of your Arizona vacations means you’ll gain access to little-known locations and fun activities during your stay.
