"My wife and I stayed at Painted Carefree for a week in August, 2015 and had a great time. It was HOT, but we live in the desert so we expected that. Had one AWESOME day of thundershowers, and several days where the clouds kept the temperature in the low 90's, so it was totally doable! We discovered Brown's Ranch trailhead in North Scottsdale towards the end of our stay and enjoyed three days of great trail running and mountain biking. The purpose of our trip was to shop for Rustic, Western, and Southwestern furniture and decor for our home, and the Cave Creek area did NOT disappoint! After a long day of shopping, hiking, or biking, the pool at Painted Carefree offered a great retreat from the heat. The seating area near the fireplace got great shade in the morning, and that is where we drank our coffee and planned our day. The house is comfortable, well stocked, and perfectly located for easy access to Carefree and Cave Creek shopping and restaurants. Truly enjoyed our stay and hope to come back again in the future."

"First of all, we can't say enough about the owner Mary Beth. She is absolutely an amazing person and very gracious host. Mary Beth was very attentive to any needs we had, yet respected our privacy. You will love this townhouse with the high ceilings, patios, gas fireplace and beautifully decorated with southwestern charm. We found the townhouse to be in perfect order and well furnished. Because it is at the end of a dead end road, it is very peaceful and you are literally one block from the shops and restaurants in Cave Creek. There is so much to do in the area with all the hiking, art fairs and festivals, shopping, etc.. I am a marathoner and found the morning runs out Spur Cross road and to the trails very spiritual. We enjoyed the excellent live music at Janey's and Harold's in Cave Creek just to name a few. This place is the perfect combination of relaxation and exploration. The views, amenities and owner are 1st rate. We will most definitely stay here again."

"We stayed in the house for a little over a week and wish it had been longer. Alan was terrific to work with; always responsive to questions and accomodating. The house was very clean and the floorplan is very efficient. The undeveloped desert immediately north of the house made waking up each morning a joy, with the orange sunshine glistening on the nearby mountains. The photos do not do the place justice. The bedrooms are great and the common kitchen/living room space is a perfect place to congregate, and it opens onto the patio and pool. A very important additional benefit is the access to the community fitness center and pool - a beautiful facilty with two pools and great exercise equipment. Tons of nearby golf courses (including Legend Trails, in the community), as well as countless public parks with trails galore. I look forward to returning in the future."
