"The Turquoise House is colourfful, quirky and definitely fun. Each room is intriguingly dressed with a huge variety of objet d'art which draw your eye and please your senses. The home is very comfortable and extremely well equipped; the kitchen has high end electrical appliances making cooking a breeze. The steam shower was a new highlight for us, even though we'd stayed in several other rentals in the Scottsdale area over a number of years. The home was immaculate, clean and comfortable.
The property is situated in a very quiet cul de sac in a gated community and the owners' very clear directions meant that we had no problems driving there from Sky Harbor. The tranquil surroundings ensured that our vacation was truly relaxing. Much of our time was spent beside the pool enjoying the bird population, as coming from the UK, hummingbirds and roadrunners are a huge treat! In fact one roadrunner strolled past about 6 feet from where I was sitting! Eagles soared overhead and we heard coyotes in the distance. When it was too hot to stay outdoors, we relished the coolness provided by an efficient air conditioning system.
It is ideally situated for day trips to Sedona and Grand Canyon, and being a bit adventurous, we took a two day trip to Monument Valley, a long drive, but those iconic buttes seen close up are a photographer's dream and the images will help us through the long wet English winter nights!
Not being golfers, we didn't take advantage of the owner's offer to play at Desert Mountain, but we visit and enjoyed a dramatic sunset from the trailhead there. The views south towards Tucson mountains were awesome, thanks Scott.
Grocery shopping was easy with a choice of stores close by. There is an impressive range of bars and restaurants within a short drive.
But above all, the home ensured that our vacation was so relaxing, everything we needed was on site, so we were able to kick back and chill out under the desert sun and stars. On two consecutive nights whilst enjoying the myriad of stars overhead, we watched in awe as a meteor silently traversed the sky leaving an orange trail in its wake.
Scott is a most attentive caring owner who goes that extra mile to ensure his guests' comfort."

"A small golf vacation for a few guys to celebrate a son's/nephew’s 16th birthday turned into a full-blown vacation for 4 families with 17 people (8 adults, 9 kids between the ages of 5-16). Our biggest issue, where do we stay with all of these people? We needed to find something where the kids would be entertained and the adults could enjoy themselves. This vacation probably would not have happened if we did not find John's house in Cave Creek.
The pictures you see do not do this property justice - the house is magnificent. Great open entertaining space, 1st class gourmet kitchen, beautiful dining room w/ mountain views, master suite you have to see to believe! Accommodations were perfect for our group and every aspect of the house was enjoyed – you truly did not have to leave (and we only did once!) Amenities were all first class – outdoor pool area w/ swim up bar/grill; mini-golf (which the kids loved and was very fun); trampoline; basketball court; theatre room (w/ full bath that opened to the outside - key for the long days at the pool) and game room were all utilized to their max. Indoor/outdoor entertainment system completed the great entertainment package. John and his family tried to think of everything in this house and it is definitely an entertainers paradise.
For those familiar with the Phoenix area, Cave Creek is in a great spot for a vacation. Far enough north to be out of the hustle of the valley, you definitely feel secluded and away from the craziness of normal life, yet close enough to the necessary vacation amenities - golf, grocery stores and other necessities (like Starbucks) are all very close. We took a day trip to Sedona, and the ride was about an hour and a half, so its convenient to other local attractions too.
I am a home owner (as many of us are), so I always expect issues when I rent houses/villas (and I do it often) – key is for the owner to be responsive to these issues, and John definitely was. We did have a few issues and he took immediate ownership and worked hard to fix the situation. In one case, he could not get an AC issue resolved timely, so he catered a Mexican meal for our group on the final night! (Thanks John!)
Overall, an absolutely fabulous vacation in a great location at a wonderful house. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a private resort disguised as a house We didn’t even mind the 115 degree heat! Only question for my group is how quickly will we be able to return??"

"First of all, we can't say enough about the owner Mary Beth. She is absolutely an amazing person and very gracious host. Mary Beth was very attentive to any needs we had, yet respected our privacy. You will love this townhouse with the high ceilings, patios, gas fireplace and beautifully decorated with southwestern charm. We found the townhouse to be in perfect order and well furnished. Because it is at the end of a dead end road, it is very peaceful and you are literally one block from the shops and restaurants in Cave Creek. There is so much to do in the area with all the hiking, art fairs and festivals, shopping, etc.. I am a marathoner and found the morning runs out Spur Cross road and to the trails very spiritual. We enjoyed the excellent live music at Janey's and Harold's in Cave Creek just to name a few. This place is the perfect combination of relaxation and exploration. The views, amenities and owner are 1st rate. We will most definitely stay here again."

"We rented this home for the month of July and felt instantly 'at home' from the minute we walked in the front door. This is a very beautifully furnished property with all the amenities you could wish for. The front door opens up on to the living room and dining room, both very tastefully decorated. The entire back wall has a view to the pool, and includes a double door leading to the patio/pool area.
The kitchen is spacious, complete with large pantry (partially stocked), and the appliances are all modern. With a large island in the middle, this was a kitchen fit for a cook of any skill level. Next to the kitchen is an informal dining area, perfect for those quick meals. And beyond that is the family room with magic furniture that lulls you to sleep almost as soon as you settle in.
The three bedrooms are very comfortable, with the master bedroom exceeding expectations. A very comfy king-size bed, plus a very plush sitting area makes this bedroom a bit of a haven.
But I have to say that one of the biggest plusses for us was the swimming pool. We have been renting in this area for 12 years, and this is, by far, our best pool. It's huge. And it has a hand-rail, which is perfect if you have someone with mobility challenges.
The whole environment of Terrevita is very welcoming from the guard at the gatehouse to the people walking down the street, who always wave when you drive by. There's a sense of security without feeling like Big Brother is watching you.
And after a month of living here, we felt a real part of the area. We wouldn't hesitate in recommending this place to anyone, and we look forward to coming back."
