  • Great Vintage Studio Casita

"My husband and I spent 10 days in early April at this nice casita in Tucson. It was close enough to 4th Street, the University and downtown to easily walk, while still being quiet and secluded. It has easy access to I-10, without any freeway noise. It was also easy to get to around Tucson for sightseeing. The weather varied from cool to warm but the casita was always comfortable. It was very clean and well equipped, and the bed was great. The owner did a thorough cleaning and linens swap since we stayed over a week. Debra also deserves a recommendation. She was very personable, helpful and informative. She recommended events we could attend and also the restaurant, Mother Hubbard's, that she owns with a partner. It's obvious she loves the area and desires to make her guests comfortable. We recommend the casita if you want an "Old Tucson" feel and want to be close to downtown."

  • Winter in Tucson

"My wife and I arrived Jan 3rd to spend 3 months in Tucson. We had the most fantastic time. The weather was perfect as was our living quarters. This property is exactly as described. Loti and Don provide for you a cozy but comfortable home. When we asked if there was a crocked pot or waffle iron we were told "no". But low and behold when we arrived there they were new in the box. Thank you very much Loti!! When one spends a quarter of the year in a different place one tries to make it as "home" like as possible and that was not difficult to do as this property is nicely furnished. I think we hit all the Tucson hi-lites and then some. Most everything in Tucson is fairly easy to get to and this place is a nice launching pad for all your adventures. Close to shopping and groceries and some nice eating options available within walking distance. I suggest you try El Cisne Mexican restaurant. Again, Thanks Loti and Don for providing a very comfortable and affordable vacation rental."

  • Katie from California

"LOVED this casita!! Brought my mom here in April 2014 because due to her health issues, I needed a two bedroom place. This casita was just what the dr ordered!! Mom and I each had our own rooms and bathrooms, and saved a lot of money fixing our breakfasts and a few meals in the cute kitchen. We popped popcorn in the microwave and stored the yummy Chocolate Therapy ice cream we discovered at Albertsons - in the freezer for our evening snacks! We live in a very windy area of California, so mom LOVED sitting out on the patio - so peaceful and quiet - with a GREAT view. Each day we looked for the javelinas to visit us, but only caught a glimpse of one as we drove up to the casita one night. Mom still teases me that she doesn't believe they exist and that I'm making them up! The older I get, the more I want some peacefulness in my life - and this casita is a piece of heaven for me. I loved it so much that my husband and I rented several days this Oct 2014 - another awesome stay! Love taking walks around the area, and the pool is really nice. Is a great base camp to branch out from to do daytrips and other activities. We plan on returning to see Tubac, taking some good hikes right nearby, seeing the butterfly exhibit at the zoo, eating at North restaurant at La Encantada mall (try to crispy potatoes there - yummmmm), and of course seeing the USC/U of Ariz football game every two years (hubby is a USC alumni). Am bringing mom and my sister back here in Apr 2015 so that my sister can take a glass blowing class at the Sonoran Glass School - they have a lot of artistic opportunities here - just a lot of neat things to explore in this town! Janet is a great owner - she is great at communicating - and is very willing to accomodate any special requests. I was concerned mom would slip in the shower w/o a bathmat (many hotels don't provide these) - but Janet made sure I had one for mom. Also got extra towels :) The casita has a lot of things you need - spices, olive & canola oil, salad dressings, condiments, napkins, basically everything short of the food you'd want to fix yourselves. Very convenient. What I love about it is that you don't really HAVE to go out anywhere - is so peaceful and wonderful just hanging out at the casita, that is nice to just be there. How many vacation spots can you say that about? Am dreaming I can own my own casita someday :)"

  • This house is one of the most gorgeous homes in Tucson that I've ever seeen!

"The mountain and city views from this house are spectacular! The host /owner was wonderfully accommodating. We loved working with him. The furniture, the bedding, and the outdoor patio furniture were all in great shape, and created comfortable living areas throughput the whole property. The pool is clean and warm with incredible mountain and city views, as well. The surrounding area is whisper quiet. We loved staying here, and we plan on renting this property again!"
