  • Comfortable, conveniently located pet-friendly base for exploring this beautiful area!

"My husband, dog, and I spent the month of March in Penny's comfortable house. It is walking distance from pretty much anything in town you'd like to do and just a short drive to other interesting places, like Nogales, AZ for more groceries than you can get in town, Nogales, MX (fun place to take a day trip), Patagonia Lake State Park, the wineries in Sonoita/Elgin, and a few good birding spots -- we walked to Paton's Hummingbird Haven and the Nature Conservancy Preserve, but not everyone cares to walk quite as far as we do! We primarily came to Patagonia for the weather, bicycling, and birding, and all were excellent. The house is very comfortable with a good flat-screen, dependable wi-fi, and a comfortable bed. The fenced side yard was great for our dog and for sitting outside to eat lunch and read my book. Be advised that there is no dishwasher, but other kitchen appliances are all there, and the kitchen is huge. The washer-dryer is in a shared part of the house off the kitchen and Penny's four dogs will come and greet you through their dog door each time you go into the laundry room. This was not a problem for us, but you should like or at least tolerate dogs or it might bother you. There was also occasional dog barking from that part of the house but not at night -- it was very quiet for sleeping, and nice and dark with the curtains on the bedroom windows. The house is older and not as modern as some places we've stayed, but it is furnished comfortably (the desk was especially nice) and is very spacious with plenty of room to hang clothes as well as shelves and a bureau. We had a lot of stuff with us, including four bicycles, and there was room for everything. Penny was helpful and easy to work with. We would definitely stay there again."

  • What an extraordinary experience!

"I came to Patagonia for my sister's wedding. She and her fiance rented this fabulous home for my wife and I and our dog. I had no idea what I was getting, and I was simply overwhelmed by what a great home this is. This house is situated on the top of a (foot) hill, with great mountain views. It was super clean and everything from the appliances to the dinnerware to the furniture is top notch. We had two bottles of wine and a quart of hummingbird nectar waiting for us when we got there. I had never even seen a hummingbird before, but within 30 minutes of putting out the nectar, we must have had 2 dozen darting in and around the house! I'm not really a bird watcher, but I can see why everyone who is gets excited about this property. The best VRBO experience I've had!"
