  • Fantastic Sonoran Desert Experience

"This property was excellent. The house, the pool, the location on a hill overlooking the desert in the near view and the city lights in the distance, provided our most relaxing vacation in a long time. The proximity to the Catalina and Rincon mountains provide the perfect location to experience summer monsoons. At the same time, we were close enough to all of the things we needed to do. There is easy access to the U of A campus as well as downtown. We have friends on the northeast side of town and had no trouble with the drive to see them. Grocery stores, shopping and restaurants are nearby. This really was the best of all worlds. The owner provided excellent customer service. We would highly recommend this property without hesitation."

  • Superb destination

"We had heard good things about VRBO properties, but had never tried a rental before this. Oh, my my. We had the best possible experience here! We were drawn to it right away by the thorough description provided by the owner. The many pictures helped, also; and upon arrival, we were not disappointed by this property. Rachel was warm, and very welcoming. We found that every single little thing was taken care of, from furnishings, to supplies, to making it easy for us to clean up after ourselves(we stayed two weeks), to information about places to travel to in the area, to the many, many bird guides and books about Arizona in the bookcase. Two couples stayed here in comfort. We absolutely fell in love with the serenity and solitude of the surroundings, and would not hesitate to book this house again. Ah, such peace and quiet. Thanks, Rachel!"

  • Nice House with a "Laid-back" Feeling

"We enjoyed this casa in a residential neighborhood near the University of Arizona. Mary has equipped the house with everything you would need, plus some thoughtful extras. She was very easy to work with. This property didn't feel contrived, instead it felt like we were borrowing a cottage from a cousin or aunt. It had a comfortable lived-in feeling that made it easy to feel at home. There are many good restaurants within less than a mile and, since the casa is in town, you avoid being assaulted by the endless shopping centers that have taken over the surrounding areas. A lot of trains roll through Tucson. If you are a light sleeper, that may be a problem and you might need to head for a condo in the hills instead (where, alas, you can't avoid seeing the shopping centers)."

  • An Amazing Place to Stay.

"We recently spent a month travelling around the south-west states. The highlight of which was 4 wonderful days spent at High Road House. We loved it from the moment we arrived, and felt instantly at home. We have travelled for many years and rented many places, but never have we been made to feel so welcome. Never have we been so reluctant to leave. The Town, the house, the owners, all exceeded our expectations. Now back in England we treasure the memories of our time there and are so grateful we selected High Road House."
