"Found this place on VRBO and it was everything it said it was!! Absolutely delightful place to stay. Very quiet and peaceful with wonderful accommodations and amenities. The only downside is the very poor quality of the road to the casita. Would seem like all the folks along the road could make some improvements to even it out a little, a very rough ride to and from. But other than that, would highly recommend!! The welcome basket, the cleanliness, the soft towels, everything was perfect for us. Would definitely come again."

"I almost didn’t write a review for this “one of a kind” rental that has everything you would want and need when visiting the Tucson area. I would rather keep it a secret because the less people that know about it the better chance I will have to rent it again next winter. I would run out of room telling you everything that we found good about this home but will try to sum it up in a couple of paragraphs.
First of all I’ve never personally met the owner (Guy) but have talked with him several times over the phone. Guy is an owner who is easily reached and who would bend over backwards to make your vacation a memorable one. We visited Tucson in early March 2015 when the temperatures are usually not warm enough to justify turning on the solar heat for the swimming pool. When Guy learned that my two young Grandsons would be visiting he sent his maintenance man Robert over to turn on the heat and get the pool up and running. The solar heating system worked great and the pool temperature warmed up to a comfortable level within a couple of days. And I can’t say enough about Guy’s right hand man Robert. Besides getting the pool going Robert had to make a minor repair during our stay. Robert is a capable, considerate and friendly man who is easy to get along with. Guy your lucky to have a gentleman like Robert taking care of your home.
Guy’s home had everything we needed and more. The home is so large that even with a full house there was plenty of room if one needed “their own space” to get away for awhile. This home is furnished with everything as described. What you don’t get from the description is how beautiful the views are and the great location in NE Tucson. The home offers first class views of the Sonoran Desert and the Catalina Mountains from not only your patio but form several windows in the home. Your only minutes away from Saguaro National Park and Sabino Canyon, both of which I would recommend seeing. We loved the convenient location which is in a quiet residential area only a short distance from major roads. All your shopping is only a few minute drive from the house. Our family will never forget our daily morning and evening walks in the neighborhood where we seldom seen neighbors out or cars on the road.
Thank you Guy for letting our family enjoy your home. We look forward to a longer stay next winter."

"We enjoyed our stay at Patio House where we found a perfect setting. The small details are worth mentioning: the tasteful decor, the well stocked and up- to- date kitchen, and the beautiful patios surrounding the home. We enjoyed our meals out of doors keeping company with the humming birds. The beds were very comfortable and compare to a luxury hotel! Patio House is in an excellent location, very close to Sabino Canyon for hiking, golfing very close by, and shopping, restaurants and entertainment just minutes away. (If you love the Blues and Jazz, go to the nearby Hog Pit on Wednesday nights). The common grounds are beautifully maintained with many mature trees. We used the pool often and found friendly folks there who shared their knowledge of the area. We both recommend Patio House as a great vacation destination."

"Casa Amapola was a great house for the five of us who gathered there from three states for a weeklong family Christmas celebration – as well as the two of us who stayed on for another couple of weeks to enjoy its tranquility at the edge of the desert. The owners have created an exciting and at the same time comfortable space inside and out with their intriguing art objects throughout the house and the lovely cactus garden in a private poolside patio area behind it. Our dog enjoyed spending much of his days in that enclosed area – and so did we, especially because of the dramatic view it offered of the mountains. While the quiet neighborhood is so far out toward the desert that we spotted coyotes and a family of javelinas, its closeness to the interstate allowed us to quickly be in the center of Tucson – a great combination."
