"We stayed for a week in this little house in Tucson. And enjoyed it very much! Everything you could have asked for was there, including a good bed (which is important). The hosts are very friendly and responded quickly when needed. It was clean and situated in a quiet neighbourhood, yet close to shops and restaurants, that are even in walking distance. It is a very good place to start your exploration of the Tucson area. Recommended!"

"I usually don't take the time to review a property but our recent stay at Hacienda del Mayar definitely warrants the exception. My wife and I found ourselves in Tucson for several weeks (with uncertain check in/out) days while we adopted our new baby. Karine, the owner, could not have been more accommodating and kind. Knowing that we had several other things on our mind, she went out of her way on multiple occasions to ensure that we had everything we needed for our visit. If you're looking for a property owner that will be more attentive to your needs and pleasant to deal with, I'm not sure you're going to find someone better than Karine.
As for the house, it also was more than perfect for our needs. While we didn't have a large group, the open layout and multiple bedrooms would have been perfect for a large family or group of friends. The house if fully stocked with pretty much anything you would need to feel comfortable in this home away from home. Beach towels, appliances, a kitchen fully stocked with pots/pans and any utensil you might need on your vacation were all found here. For those with young kids, the house had multiple pack n plays, a highchair, and several other kid needs. Finally, the backyard pool area was perfect. Quiet and relaxing with the desert mountains as a backdrop made hanging out at the pool the best way to pass the time.
Despite being on the outer edges of town, the house is very close to anything you might need (gas station, grocery, restaurants, Target, mall, etc.). It really is the best of both worlds....a quiet peaceful rental house situated at the edge of the Saguaro National Park but close enough to several dining options and necessities that you don't feel stranded.
Long story short, we will definitely be staying at Hacienda del Mayar for our next visit to Tucson.
My wife and I (along with our baby boy) fully recommend Hacienda del Mayar and it's owner Karine!!

"Only one word can define our stay here: PERFECT. Cynthia provided a beautiful location to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary in sheer beauty and tranquility. The colors displayed by the natural setting of the desert are not exaggerated and are visible daily, with amazing sun rises and sets, thunderstorms with rainbows and glowing stars at night. The charming luminosa house has every detail guests need to feel beyond comfortable. Exceptionally clean and furnished with everything to make our stay complete and carefree (e.g. fantastic reading material on the Saguaro desert, pool towels, wonderfully homemade bath soap, and spices for cooking). Guests can easily unwind and enjoy birdwatching, water color painting, reading, meditation and eating with family/friends on the porch of the casita (which we loved doing everyday). Our young daughter enjoyed looking at the wildlife and drew multiple pictures of cacti, while identifying different kinds of animals she saw with books provided in the house.
Without any hesitation, we would return again and hope to do so again in the near future. Thank you Cynthia for your kindness, hospitality and making our anniversary a truly magical experience."

"We really enjoyed our month-long stay at this handsome hacienda and can't wait until our next visit. Well situated near the city of Tucson- you feel like you're in the middle of the desert- very quiet except for the calling coyotes, hooting owls and singing birds. And even though the very nice owners live next door, they left us alone and we never saw them except when we asked for help regarding things that had nothing to do with the house. Speaking of which, the cozy hacienda is tastefully decorated and furnished with all of the essential amenities and very clean. We especially enjoyed relaxing on the patio on the east side of the house overlooking a wash that provided great views of the Santa Catalina and Rincon mountains as well as sitting on the west side for the sunset over the Tucson Mountains. Simply put, this is a great place maintained by great people."
