Wonderful Winterhaven Rental
"We needed a place to stay while some remodeling was going on in our home. This property was about 2 blocks from our home, on a very quiet, lovely, tree-shaded street. Everything in the house was sparkling clean when we arrived, and the directions for the t.v., stores nearby, A/C & heat, all were clear and concise and easy to find.
The house was very well equipped, with lots of linens, dishes, cleaning, laundry and kitchen supplies, and had a very large backyard in which our puppy could freely and safely roam.
Thanks, Robert, for the opportunity to stay in this great home. You were very gracious in allowing us to check in early and stay longer on the check-out day. We appreciate your hospitality and the ease of renting and communicating, and we'll definitely recommend your house to friends from out of town."

"This little guesthouse is quiet and comfortable. It is well-stocked with dishes and even has a laundry room. There is a little patio that is very private. It's not in a fancy part of town, but it's convenient to everything central if you have a car. Penny and Dennis are nearby if you need them but respect your privacy."

"We have just returned from Hacienda del Mayar (4-18 April 2015), where we were joined by our daughter and her family from Minnesota – for the third time in 4 years.
We can only endorse the enthusiastic reviews posted by previous visitors, which are surely 100% genuine, since the Hacienda really is exceptional. That we are willing to travel from the UK to get there speaks for itself. Every year Karine and Jean-Michel have added amenities, while replacing anything that was starting to show wear and tear.
It is a very comfortable, nicely laid out and conveniently situated property, so one doesn't feel the need to go out too much. However it is an ideal base for getting to know the uncrowded and attractive country between I-10 and the border, since Houghton is now a fast exit to the south.
This year the pool was nicely warmed up by the beginning of April and the palo verde a riot of colour. However the warm winter meant that the hummingbird migration was over, with only a few stragglers to be seen. (We were surprised to find that Patagonia Lake was closing down for the summer in mid-April).
This might be our last stay, since our daughter's family are considering moving to this area of Tucson. Karine has been most helpful with advice and introductions, even although this might mean losing a booking. In all ways she is a pleasure to deal with, welcoming and genuinely concerned about her visitors' needs."

Great place - wonderful setting - access to many activities
"My family really enjoyed staying at this condo. Our trip was over March 28-April 5 2015 and while intended to be mostly vacation it was also part business as we took care of some family business for my mother-in-law. The location was about 10-15 minutes from mother-in-law so that made that aspect of the trip that much easier.
We scheduled this at the last minute and fortunately the owners were able to work with us to allow for a 1 week rental. They stayed in contact with us during our travel to Tucson and upon arrival so we were able to meet in a timely manner. They were flexible and communicated well.
The property itself is nicely done. The kitchen was updated and had all the needed items for cooking, etc., even though we ate out a fair amount. The rooms were spacious and the beds very good. The condo property has a heated pool and we were able to get in several times - the kids had a blast as we did some of our regular pool games. We also made it over to Sabino Canyon (very short drive - but you can walk or bike there we just were short on time) for a couple of hikes. My wife enjoyed mornings out the patio area. There's lots of restaurants and things to do in the vicinity.
The family walked a short distance up to the Ventana Canyon Golf and Racquet Club - there is a fitness trail with exercise stations that runs along the golf course property. We did the fitness trail all the way up to the start - it was a real blast!
We ran into one unexpected interruption - the first night the owner turned on the AC to run. It ran continuously all night but never seemed to drop to the set temperature. It was not super hot yet so it did not overly concern me and our family was not bothered by the temp, but I decided to keep an eye on it. That same morning/day it continued to run without ever lowering to the preset temperature. I decided to call and let the owner know that there might some kind of issue. He had someone come over immediately to determine what might be happening - the AC was not functioning as it should be and needed to be addressed/replaced. He brought in a portable swamp cooler to help keep things cool and we ran the ceiling fans and opened the windows at night. While the AC was not fixed during our stay the owner was very conscious of it, showed empathy, and communicated with us frequently throughout the stay. He also made a nice gesture to accommodate this unanticipated occurrence. Great stay at a great place with great owner."
