  • So good, I came back for another stay!

"I originally stayed rented out the Hacienda Hideout while I was in grad school back in 2009, and I loved it so much that I promised myself I'd come back at some point. Although that was five years ago, I finally made it back, and I am still in love with this place. Even though I was an older student when I stayed here the first time, this place was/is like the ultimate getaway and is a great place to stay for weekend trips, a romantic getaway, or for the ultimate snowbirds. Each time I came home, I felt like I was escaping from the city! It is a cute little guest house on a ranch just yards away from the main house with stunning views of the mountains on the eastern and western sides. You are essentially surrounded by nature-- a saguaro and barrel cacti outside your window and depending on the season, you might see a fox, javelina, hummingbirds, deer, or owls in the yard! The house is a designed in a very traditional Southwestern style with polished concrete flooring, sturdy hardwood and quality leather furniture, authentic Southwestern decorations, and includes a washer and dryer! There is a back patio with an amazing view of the mountains and is great for breakfast and enjoying the sunsets. You don't want to miss out on this one! The location is perfect, too! It is also conveniently close to Gates Pass-- allowing easy access to watch the sun rise and set everyday if you wish along with the Saguaro National Park (west side), the Desert Museum, and old Tucson. Downtown is close by and there is a farmer's market along with several grocery stores nearby, as well. The landlords are amazing, too-- very down-to-earth, friendly, and accomodating people-- they go out of their way to make you feel at home. I asked if the guesthouse had a juicer, and they bought one! I have rented guesthouses all over the country, and I have to say that this place is my favorite of all. Trust me on this one, folks-- you don't want to miss out!"

  • Everything You Need

"We stayed here for 2 plus weeks in April and this house is perfect - very nicely decorated. It is small but fine for one or two couples. The owner, Chris, has thought of EVERYTHING and if you do lack for something, just call her. She is very attentive to her guests. We did activities in north, south, east and west Tucson so Casa Calma was perfectly located. We ate out half the time but when we did cook we were delighted to find a grill on the back patio, with charcoal and starter even. We used it often and we really enjoyed eating our meals on the back patio. I highly recommend this house. Oh, and eat at Cafe Poca Cosa - you will not be disappointed!"

  • Just what the doctor ordered

"My son and I spent 5 nights at this property to attend a reunion of Air Force pilots. It was perfect for us as an alternative to the Westin La Paloma Resort and Spa. The description of the property was very accurate, the pictures spot on. It was completely and perfectly furnished (even down to band-aids and antiseptic) for our stay. It was like taking our own home with us on vacation. We lacked for nothing. You will require a car as there are no shopping centers near enough to walk to. In fact, dining at the Westin is the only option without a car. The views are spectacular and wildlife galore just beyond the porch. It seems that a white wing dove and a quail were sharing a nest in one of the planters on the porch. In short, we loved it. Thanks John"

  • Splendid Townhome with Views

"We spent a wonderful two week Christmas Holiday at this beautiful townhome with our two sons and their wives. Well-appointed with a nicely laid-out kitchen, and with an Arizona room that is the jewel of the home."
