  • Spacious, Private, Accessible

"My husband and I stayed for five days over Thanksgiving. The rental is easy to get to, with great shopping, restaurants and golf close by. Downtown and the university are an easy drive. We loved how spacious the accommodations were. (Our nephew and his fiance joined us for much football watching and we all had plenty of room to spread out!) The bed (and luxury bedding) are super comfy. The kitchen is a tad small but has a full-size fridge and stove/oven. Meals are easy to prepare. But with Trader Joe's and AJ's so close, it's easy to pick up pre-made meals if you don't feel like cooking. We can't wait to return in warmer weather so we can enjoy the pool area -- which is fantastic. We've stayed in more expensive (and smaller) VRBOs in Tucson and never had such a wonderful experience. Thanks, John and Lisa. We'll be back."

  • Best Tucson Rental

"This is the third time we have rented a vacation home in Tucson. This home has an incredible amount of amenities and space at a reasonable price. Plus the owner is available by text or phone and very easy to work with. Home was clean and linens nice. Everything in the kitchen worked well. We used the outside grill twice and had no problem with it. Enjoyed the putting green and pool. Pool temp was nice, never bath water hot. View was stunning! Hiking available by going out the door. Gated with easy access. A real retreat, yet close to downtown. Thanks for a great stay!"

  • Cozy adobe cottage with a sense of style

"Clean, comfortable little house with everything you might need for a short vacation (e.g. fully outfitted kitchen, washer and dryer). We stayed with our two kids (5 & 10) and it worked great. The neighborhood is nice - I think has more character than most Tucson neighborhoods, but you do need a car to get places. Joanne (the owner) is very friendly and helpful. Basically no complaints - it was a great place to stay."

  • An authentic desert experience with all the comforts

"Anita's Casita was the perfect 3-night getaway for our family of four. The pictures of the Casita do not do it justice. The one room studio was spacious for the four of us; the main bed is very firm but comfortable; our two teen daughters were very comfortable on the futon. The décor is charming, in southwest style with beautiful brick flooring (with radiant heat) and wood beamed ceiling. It really set the atmosphere for our desert experience. Nice large tub and shower. Plenty of linens well stocked paper goods. And the Casita is kept very clean! The Gas grill is great, but also, the kitchenette has every appliance needed. We baked cookies in the portable convection/toaster oven, made Mexican hot chocolate on the hot plate, she even had a crock pot and rice cooker if you needed it. We cooked dinner two our of three nights and really enjoyed it. Remember to bring your groceries because we didn't see a real grocery store for miles. But Anita has the pantry stocked with many spices, sugar, flour, oils and vinegar, salt and pepper. If you want to visit the city (which was not our interest) this is probably not the distance you want to drive back and forth into Tuscon. But if you're interested in experiencing the magical desert, Saguero National Park, The Desert Museum, the moonlight and the stars, and even the hokey fun of Old Tuscon Studios, then this location is absolutely perfect and within 15 minutes to those major attractions. Also for an amazing breakfast try the prickly pear eggs benedict at Todd's at Ryan Airfield and don't miss the burgers at Tiny's - an authentic cowboy joint where you'll see big hats and boots up and down the bar. We celebrated a quiet family New Years' so it was cold and snowed on New Years eve. The Frosted desert the next morning was a sight to behold. On the property we saw brown bunnies, hummingbirds, and yes, we saw a Coyote walking down our driveway when we came in after a day at the park. Anita and John are the most gracious hosts. They were friendly and helpful and beamed with obvious pride over the lovely experience they create for their guests. They should be proud. We are so greatful to these lovely hosts who shared their special place with us. Thank you John and Anita!"
