"LOVED this casita!! Brought my mom here in April 2014 because due to her health issues, I needed a two bedroom place. This casita was just what the dr ordered!! Mom and I each had our own rooms and bathrooms, and saved a lot of money fixing our breakfasts and a few meals in the cute kitchen. We popped popcorn in the microwave and stored the yummy Chocolate Therapy ice cream we discovered at Albertsons - in the freezer for our evening snacks! We live in a very windy area of California, so mom LOVED sitting out on the patio - so peaceful and quiet - with a GREAT view. Each day we looked for the javelinas to visit us, but only caught a glimpse of one as we drove up to the casita one night. Mom still teases me that she doesn't believe they exist and that I'm making them up! The older I get, the more I want some peacefulness in my life - and this casita is a piece of heaven for me. I loved it so much that my husband and I rented several days this Oct 2014 - another awesome stay! Love taking walks around the area, and the pool is really nice. Is a great base camp to branch out from to do daytrips and other activities. We plan on returning to see Tubac, taking some good hikes right nearby, seeing the butterfly exhibit at the zoo, eating at North restaurant at La Encantada mall (try to crispy potatoes there - yummmmm), and of course seeing the USC/U of Ariz football game every two years (hubby is a USC alumni). Am bringing mom and my sister back here in Apr 2015 so that my sister can take a glass blowing class at the Sonoran Glass School - they have a lot of artistic opportunities here - just a lot of neat things to explore in this town! Janet is a great owner - she is great at communicating - and is very willing to accomodate any special requests. I was concerned mom would slip in the shower w/o a bathmat (many hotels don't provide these) - but Janet made sure I had one for mom. Also got extra towels :) The casita has a lot of things you need - spices, olive & canola oil, salad dressings, condiments, napkins, basically everything short of the food you'd want to fix yourselves. Very convenient. What I love about it is that you don't really HAVE to go out anywhere - is so peaceful and wonderful just hanging out at the casita, that is nice to just be there. How many vacation spots can you say that about? Am dreaming I can own my own casita someday :)"

  • Perfect house with wonderful owner/host

"My med school friends and I (along with our significant others) stayed at Poet's Retreat this November. Everything from the moment we contacted Kimberly to the moment we left the house was perfect. Her communication and directions were great. She was very accommodating for our peculiar needs. She ensured that everything was clear and that we had no issues whatsoever. Words cannot describe how charming this house is. It should be advertised in magazines. The decor and furnishings are amazing. The house has three comfortable bedrooms that can fit three couples very comfortably, with the master bedroom being a suite with outdoor access. The kitchen, living room, and dining area made us feel at home. The backyard is very well done with areas to relax along. There were even lemon and pomegranate trees to pick from. A washer/dryer was there to use. To make a long story short - you can't go wrong and don't think you can find better. You are guaranteed a fantastic host, great price, amazing house, utmost comfort, unbeatable charm, and everything with ease. Not a single thing we would change about the place and/or experience we had."

  • Casa Bella

"This property was perfect for my family when they came for the U of A graduation. The kitchen and bathrooms were especially nice. The entire house was clean and kept. I was pleased and proud to show off Tucson starting with this beautiful house and beautiful neighborhood. Lil the owner was easy to reach before the stay and welcoming when the family arrived. I would suggest this home for anyone's visitors!! Thanks Lil!"

  • Spectacular sunsets and Tucson city lights

"After renting in several locations in Tucson over the years, we were happy to find this beautiful home on HomeAway. The owner was very accommodating and provided everything we could want. The most spectacular views can be seen from the pool deck, of the Catalina Mountains and the Tucson city lights. We enjoyed watching the hourly changes, and most of all, the beautiful sunsets. We used the heated community pool almost daily. We enjoyed the wildlife in the area: deer, coyotes, hummingbirds, hawks, rabbits, roadrunners and quail. The location of the home is convenient for shopping (Whole Foods and Safeway) and for revisiting the many attractions Tucson has to offer: DeGrazia Gallery in the Sun, Sabino Canyon, Sajuaro National Park, Old Town Artisans, Tubac and the many museums and galleries downtown. We look forward to returning in 2015!"
