  • Excellent Place to Stay - Awesome Owners

"This property is exactly what you see in the pictures! It is amazing to sit on the patio in back that is overlooking the 7th tee. Mountains are seen looking to the left and everything is there that you need. It is beautifully decorated and quite a pleasant place to stay. The beds are very comfortable for sleeping and having a bad back and hip I never had a problem while there. Good supply of cooking utensils as well. The exercise room, pool and hot tub were used frequently. You will enjoy and not be sorry when you rent the property. We thought at first we were in the middle of no where but everything is so close the location is great and in between Phoenix and Tucson. We left some brochures/magazines on places to go and places to see when leaving, but there is a tourist information center (doesn't look like much) but turn right out of the gated community and head straight for a little bit (before stop signs) trailer on right by deserted building. All kinds of information to be had in that little space. Things to do, places to go. Tucson and Phoenix are about an hour away. Be prepared for the driving in Phoenix - we didn't like it but some others may find it ok. We by-passed Phoenix coming back going 101 til it ended and cut over. We took the scenic route to Apache Junction through Chandler and that was a change of pace. We prefer Tucson over Phoenix where it's not as congested and/or stop and go. It's only 10 minutes to Casa Grande where we did our grocery shopping and other types of shopping. San Miguel Golf Course is a very nice course and they have a delicious San Miquel salad that is a must to try if you like salads. Also the Friday night fish (AYCE) is scrumptious. We go for fish quite regularly here in WI and their fish is the best I've had in a long time. Gary and Anita are awesome owners! We met them at their house and Gary took us down to the property. We had dinner with them one night and breakfast/brunch with them another. They are very cordial and likable people. You cannot go wrong with this property. We would go back in a heartbeat and hope to at some point. We just happen to luck out! AND happy we did!"

  • Surprise birthday

"This was a surprise 60th birthday for my sister-in-law with 8 girls. Planning this was so easy with Billie and Mac. We left Phoenix in a bad rain storm and Billie called to make arrangements for us to meet Mac at our lunch stop in Sonoita. With 2 cars and 8 girls loaded down with food, etc. Mac shuttled us in 2 trips to get to the ranch for our stay. The roads were very muddy and our cars were not 4 wheel drive. We left our cars locked at the local gas station and Mac assured us they would be safe. Upon our arrival Mac helped us unload our things and the party began! Even had a bonfire all ready to light. Our guest house was just beautiful, with everything you could ever need to make your stay the best! Billie's touch with all the decorating was 5 star! Heading into Sonoita for wine tasting the next day, Mac left his truck for us to take so we were safe getting down through the muddy road. WOW, what more could we ask for? Coming back was a breeze and our bonfire was ready to go for another great evening under the beautiful stars. All of us girls can't thank the Donaldson's enough. If you are looking for a true cattle ranch experience, this without a doubt is a must stay! Already planning our next stay."

  • Warm rural nature-filled NIRVANA!

"If you're looking for glitzy nightlife, accessible restaurants, shopping galore then this place is NOT for you. But if a quiet, nature-filled, laid back setting with awesome hosts appeals, then this location will become your favorite! Though a 20 mi. drive from downtown Tucson this charming, western motif, well appointed, immaculate 3-bedroom home will be your escape after a busy day sightseeing. A fenced yard with outdoor seating to enjoy a BBQ while watching an awesome sunset or viewing wildlife from the confines of this charming casita will make you pinch yourself. There are not enough superlatives to describe this great vacation home as well as the warm welcome and helpfulness from its owners - complete with fresh muffins upon arrival!"

  • Knockout view!

"We have really enjoyed our time here. The house is bright, airy and peaceful, with plenty of room. The owner is very helpful and concerned that you're having a good time in her home. The view is spectacular and at night you feel you can reach out and touch the stars! Can't wait to come back next year."
