  • Most comfortable rental ever!

"Spent the weekend at Rose Cottage with my sister and mother. We fell in love with everything about the cottage! It was warm and comfortable, decorated so nicely, and very clean! We loved sitting on the porch, and seeing the beautiful trees from every window. The weather turned out to be chilly and rainy, and we were actually happy because we didn't feel bad about spending so much time inside. We curled up by the fire and watched movies. A perfect place to stay. I am already recommending it to everyone!"

  • Family Time

"We rented the home for a few days and had some family members in the area come over one day for a family get together. We were all impressed with the house as it was roomy, very well laid out, clean and modern. The location was just remote enough that there was no traffic noise, but it was still a very short drive to groceries, gas, etc. Enjoyed driving to the close-by state park, walking some trails, touring the visitor center at the dam, etc. Beds were comfortable and a separate full bath off of each bedroom was a big plus. The owner that I dealt with was very accomodating and pleasant to talk with and he offered all kinds of good advice to make the trip more enjoyable. There is an app for your cell that can be downloaded that provides great information, links an locations for weather, area attractions, restaurants and so forth while in the area. AT&T cell coverage seems to work well everywhere we went. (Using the app to write this review on the last night here using the free WiFi in the house.) Definitely hope to come back here sometime soon. Forgot to mention.... the views of the river and surrounding scenery were unbeatable."

  • Excellent location, great interactions with owner.

"I highly recommend this rental. We arrived early on a Friday afternoon to a very clean, well appointed home. The kitchen was beautiful, appearing to have been just recently updated. The home itself was excellent with all of the ladies of the trip ooo'ing and awe'ing over the built ins and all the charm of an older home. We were in town for the a half marathon event and wanted to enjoy some razorback sporting events and the location was perfect. We never had to travel more than 1 mile to anything including John McDonnell Field (track) and Bogle Park (women's softball). We walked (half mile) to Hugo's for lunch one day as well as the packet pick up and race start directly on the square. The flying burrito is literally around the corner from the house where after running 13.1 miles we enjoyed a MOAB (a double burrito), and multiple choices of coffee Saturday morning with in a 3 minute walk. The home has four very spacious bedrooms and a double bedroom that was a bit smaller. It fit our family of 7 adults and 2 kids perfectly, and could have easily held additional people without feeling cramped or suffocated. One of the best things about working with the owner was the late check out. I recognize that this would not always be the case, but he was very open to a late check out on Sunday, and made sure that we recognized that it was not a problem. We were able to complete our race Sunday morning, and then be able to relax, shower, pack and eat lunch before officially locking the door on our way out of town. I will add as a final note, that those that are light sleepers should consider bringing some method of generating white noise. With the location being just off Dickson street, there was quite a bit of noise around closing time. This would by no means have an impact on a decision for us to stay at this property again."

  • Diamond in the Rough

"Our stay at the Duck's Nest was wonderful! Step inside to a cozy little retreat that is very clean, well maintained and has newer furniture. There is a wonderful full length screened back porch facing the river. We slept in a king sized bed on the porch during a thunderstorm….what an amazing experience! The area also boasts a picnic table for outdoor dining. Although we don't fish, it looks like a perfect spot (comes with it's own dock) to try your luck. I would highly recommend these accommodations and we will definitely be going back. The owner is a very nice woman who goes out of her way to make sure you have all the comforts necessary to enjoy a time away. She also furnishes homemade waffle batter and and absolutely out of this world homemade syrup for your first breakfast. Don't judge this little gem by it's cover or you will surly miss a very pleasurable experience."
