"Our stay at the Duck's Nest was wonderful! Step inside to a cozy little retreat that is very clean, well maintained and has newer furniture. There is a wonderful full length screened back porch facing the river. We slept in a king sized bed on the porch during a thunderstorm….what an amazing experience! The area also boasts a picnic table for outdoor dining. Although we don't fish, it looks like a perfect spot (comes with it's own dock) to try your luck. I would highly recommend these accommodations and we will definitely be going back. The owner is a very nice woman who goes out of her way to make sure you have all the comforts necessary to enjoy a time away. She also furnishes homemade waffle batter and and absolutely out of this world homemade syrup for your first breakfast. Don't judge this little gem by it's cover or you will surly miss a very pleasurable experience."

"Thank you, Bridget, for creating such a perfect atmosphere for a our family getaway (w/ 3 teens) at the Little Red River Retreat!! From the moment we arrived, we settled right in and let the relaxing and fun begin! The neighborhood is beautiful and private, and the home is absolutely charming and situated so nicely back in the trees with the deck leading down to the river right out the back door. The guys loved waking up and heading down to fish off the dock and we all enjoyed making s'mores by the fire-pit at night. We took short hikes on the trails at Sugar Loaf Mountain and also Collins Creek and the restaurants (Chuck's Diner/Steakhouse & Cafe Klaser) nearby were great! The short drive into town allowed us gals to visit a few of the shops and even get an iced coffee and treats at Jitterbugs (yummy)! Thank you for being so accommodating and hospitable - the weekend was a true blessing!"

"This place is a dream come true for any fisherman (or in my case, fisher-woman)! I love, love, love to fish. I was up at 4:00 a.m. every single day of my 6 day stay waiting for daylight so I could wade out into the water and "wet my line." I caught my limit every day and out-fished my husband! I was concerned at first because there was no dock, but quickly learned that no one around there fished from docks ... They all waded out into the water to fish, and I did the same and loved it! This was a first for me! The Red River Trout Dock which is about 2 minutes away has all of the tackle and supplies you'll need for fishing. The cabin itself was wonderful. Everything was as described, if not better than described. The back porch area was great for just sitting and listening to the water. There is a huge back yard with a fire pit. This is the perfect retreat for couples. The water was very high so access to Greers Ferry Lake was closed, leaving my 15 year old daughter with very little to do. If there's a golfer in the family, try Tannenbaum Golf Course. It was beautiful. My husband is an avid golfer and has played several courses and he found this course to be the best, most challenging course he has played. And the owner was soooo helpful ... I bombarded him with emails and questions before and during our trip and he was always so quick to respond and extremely helpful! I'm back at work this morning and already checking my calendar to see when will be a good time for me to return to the Cabin. I hated to leave and will be back first chance I get!!!"
