  • Great place to stay!

"This is a very nice home with a great deck and private fishing dock. We had plenty of room and kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. Very clean and comfortable. It was perfect for our stay and family get away. We caught plenty of fish and had a great time. Very peaceful and relaxing stay. I would definitely recommend it and hope to visit again. Thanks! • Great private getaway

"My wife and I spent a long weekend here, and we loved every minute of it. The cabin is very clean and in excellent shape. The location is fairly private. We could only see one other cabin from the porch. There's enough to do at the cabin to keep you occupied if you don't want to get out (dominoes, cards, horseshoes in the yard), but we really loved exploring the area around the cabin. There are a couple of rocky natural springs running down the mountain behind the cabin that provide a somewhat challenging but very rewarding hike if you make it to the top. We had a good time taking the boat out and paddling around the river, but be aware when moving the boat--there were a couple of snakes and A LOT of spiders around the area where the boat is tied up. Another caveat that may not matter to everyone, but we were surprised by it... Cleburne County is a dry county! We were hoping to pick up a bottle of wine at Cravens when we arrived, only to find out that the nearest place to buy any kind of alcohol is about 45 minutes away, so come prepared if you want to have a drink. This was a late honeymoon for my wife and me, and we absolutely could not have asked for a better weekend getaway. We loved everything about this place and would definitely return or recommend it to anyone we know."

  • Best of everything

"Five stars is too skimpy a rating for this place. It was perfect for our family Thanksgiving. Other reviewers have given it five stars, but it really deserves at least six. It is simply the best."
