Recent Horseshoe Lake property reviews

  • Meredeth C.

"We just returned for an amazing weekend. This house has it all- large rooms, three full bathrooms, and a great kitchen and sunroom. The property is so fun. We played volleyball, basketball, had a cookout, bonfire and swam from the dock. We will definitely return."

  • Quite, restful, but water fun

"The house is located right on the beautiful lake. It has it's own big long dock. The lake is about 20 ft. at the end of the dock. The house is older, but well kept. It is comfortable and would have enough living space for a large family. The owner leaves next door and are wonderful about helping out with anything. We 3 women had our hearts set on fishing. They furnished the rods and we furnished the crickets. We caught about 10 brim (kept 8) to eat for supper. They were wonderful especially since the owners let us borrow their fish fryer. One of us even went swimming with the owners at the end of their dock and had a great time. We were there the week before the 4th and it was hot, hot, hot! but the air was great and we had a wonderful time inside. Also the house is so close to Memphis is unreal, We went into Memphis one night for ribs. YUM. Also they welcomed my little Amber (poodle); she enjoyed her vacation also."

  • NOTHING else this nice at Horseshoe for the price

"When I was searching for a cabin to rent at Horseshoe Lake, I came across this and it sounded almost too good to be true. Thankfully I was wrong – it is a GEM! You enter the house through a screened porch that runs the width of the cabin. There’s a swing, 2 rocking chairs, and a large table where we ate all our meals. There’s quite a bit of shade out there on the porch AND a ceiling fan so even in July it was pleasant and we loved being out there. The house has an open floor plan with a good size well-equipped kitchen to your left and the living room with a wall-mounted TV and plenty of COMFORTABLE seating to your right. There were only 2 of us but we did have some friends out for the 4th of July boat parade and fireworks and a cookout and we did not feel crowded at all. In fact, my friends threatened to just stay and sleep in the recliners which are super big and comfy. The bedroom’s got a huge closet and a NICE king size bed. We especially loved the mattress and bedding. The way the cabin is laid out is nice if you have people sleeping in both the bedroom and the living room because you can access the bathroom from either room. The bathroom is all updated like the rest of the house. Everything was immaculate and well-kept. I am picky about this sort of thing and I must say that whoever cleans it does a really nice job. We knew that this cabin would not be right on the water and we would share a pier with the people in the house in front. The people who were there for the 4th were family of the owners and could not have been nicer. The pier was very well equipped. There were all kinds of supplies and water toys that I’m sure we could have used if we’d wanted but we just wanted to relax and swim and watch the amazing sunsets. But I can see families with little ones being just as happy and comfortable at this cabin as my husband and I were. Both of us commented quite a few times throughout our stay that we could not believe how inexpensive yet amazing this place was. There is NOTHING at Horseshoe Lake area as nice as this for this price! It is very well kept and you can tell the owners take pride in the cabin. In some ways I almost don’t even want to share this review because I want this cabin to be available to US when we are ready to come back -- which will be SOON! We just adore Horseshoe Lake and now we have found our perfect home away from home."

  • Fantastic Lake Experience

"The family took a weekend off on the lake to just get out of the city. We had a fantastic time. Perfect for people that love to be on the lake. Convenient location to Kamp Karefree and Bonds if you need supplies. It is a rustic, peaceful, location on a Lake so do not expect a stay at the Waldorf, but much nicer than the average lake cabin / house we have stayed at in the past. We plan to go back for sure! If you go during the warm months, bring some Wasp and mosquito spray if you are going in the warm months to fight off the flying critters."
