  • Do I have to leave?

"This cottage is exceptional in every way. Let me say first off that Marie has thought of everything... it's as if you never really left home when you arrive here. To say the cottage is "well-equipped" would be an understatement! There are extra razors in the bath, hair and bath products, full size washer / dryer with laundry soap in the cabinet, beautiful stainless appliances, gas grill, very nice linens throughout, even an extra fan in the closet for those of us that need the white noise to sleep by! The deck was our primary relaxation spot... it is huge with several comfy chairs, a wonderful handmade wooden swing, BBQ grill and several beautiful flowering potted plants. We spent every evening on the deck looking over the lake, admiring the stars. During the day, don't forget the geese and mallard ducks that swim up for a visit, they love potato chips or crackers and will love you for the attention! You can tell by all the details, that this cottage is beloved by Marie.... it's obvious by all of the little and big details that she has tended to. I just cannot say enough about this beautiful home other than summing it up by saying it truly is a "home"... thank you Marie for sharing it with us, we cannot wait to return!"

  • Long-time friends from college / guys getaway

"Wow - where to begin. Five of us from all corners of the country booked this last year looking for a centrally located location with some lake access for swimming and boating. This was an easy 1 hour drive from Little Rock Airport. We couldn't have asked for a better house or location. Beautiful view, pool, grill on the deck, washer/dryer available, nearby grocery stores and boat rentals - there is NOTHING lacking. Must admit, I thought it was too good to be true on the photos, but it's absolutely accurate or even better once you stay. Tom the property manager is easy to contact and hugely helpful to provide assistance or get you in the right direction. For the five of us, there are plenty of beds and bathrooms. Everything is clean and working. Plenty of towels in the bathrooms and a fully equipped kitchen. Aside from bringing in your clothes and food - it's all there and like being a guest in someones home. Couldn't have asked for a better weekend. A true gem on VRBO."

  • Beautiful relaxing home with everything right there!

"My husband and I stayed in this lovely home for 5 days while attending a wedding in Little Rock one evening. The home, property and views were amazing. A very private area that was quiet and peaceful so we were able to listen to all the sounds of nature. The outside patios and furnishings were very comfortable and the home itself is equipped very nicely. There were two very good restaurants nearby with lake views as well as several grocery stores; however, the home was nestled away in a secluded area that was private. We enjoyed just being there so much we decided to spend most of our time right there. Perfect place to grill, have a fire, fish and swim. It was to chilly to get in the water but they have an amazing deck right there that would allow one to slowly go down the steps and enjoy a raft while visiting with those on the deck. They also have a great place to slip your boat right there. I highly recommend this vacation home; it would be wonderful for a girls weekend or for a family as the house is very spacious. Also, don't forget the jacuzzi with TV in the master bath; it's simply wonderful before retiring for the evening. Also, I dealt with Richard, the owner and he was extremely friendly and accommodating with our needs. Really can't say enough about this home and he also owns a smaller cottage on the same property that combined would be the perfect place for friends or families to reunite and enjoy!!!"

  • Would Stay Here Again!

"We had a great time spending spring break in Hot Springs. This condo was very clean, had plenty of towels, and had three TVs which was a big hit with our two teenagers. There is not a direct view of Lake Hamilton because another condo complex blocks the view but condo was very nice and located a couple hundred feet from the lake. Much better than staying in a hotel plus the condo community is very quiet and relaxing. Condo is located up the street from Garvan Woodland Gardens which I would highly recommend seeing."

Hot Springs Travel Tips

Hot Springs Vacation Rentals in the Ouachita Mountains

There are two places in Arkansas that are well known for their beauty and peaceful vacation spots. The first area is the Ozark Mountains while the second is in the Ouachita Mountains. Hot Springs vacation rentals are located in the latter which is in the west-central section of the state just a few miles from Little Rock. On your trip to this peaceful oasis, you will need to fly into Little Rock or use one of the highways that run through the state. Interstates 30 and 40 will bring you out of Little Rock towards Highway 10, but there are also a number of highways that run through the Ouachita Mountains and its national forest. The hot springs are closer to the Little Rock side than the Arkansas border.

Hot Springs Cabins Bring you to Nature

Renting Hot Springs cabins is a better way to go than trying to find a hotel or motel in the area. With the cabins you will find yourself on the edge of the national forest with plenty of Arkansas attractions to keep you busy. You can start out with outdoor recreation and watersports as there are two lakes within the region where you can go boating, fishing, waterskiing, and even swimming. Scuba diving is also a possibility in the lakes. After a bit of time in the national forest, you can move around to the small towns and cities for more excitement. Before talking about the cities and towns, one should mention that Arkansas has four distinct seasons. When in the mountains, you can expect warm summers and cold winters with snow. Winter skiing, hiking, and some whitewater rafting are part of the adventures you can enjoy throughout the year.

Hot Springs Homes Near Shopping and Art

It is impossible to walk along the streets of surrounding cities or the Hot Springs village without running into one antique shop.

The Thermal Baths of Hot Springs, Arkansas

Hot Springs, Arkansas has been aptly named due to the geological creations. This area has a rich history dating back to the Native American times. Many tribes would arrive at Hot Springs, keeping it as a place of peace and neutrality since they felt it was a very important place. As modern generations found their way to the springs, the area began to draw more and more people until the 1940s when modern medicine came into play. With modern medicine, perception changed regarding the springs but only a little. Many still thought the thermal waters would heal them, thus they still draw thousands of people today. The cool mineral water flows up from the ground, sparking the spas. For visitors to Arkansas, the main area to head to is Bathhouse Row in the Hot Springs National Park.
