  • Wonderful stay!

"We rented this beautiful house for 5 nights and was so glad we made the trip! My grandfather used to run the Klein Shore Resort back in the 60s and it brought back so many memories to come down and see the cabins that have been beautifullly renovated and are on the lake! The sunrise was gorgeous every morning! The house was equipped with everything we needed and they brought a gas grill to replace the broken one while we were there! I would not recommend this property for anyone that cannot do steps because all the tubs/showers are upstairs and there are several steps down to the dock, but otherwise it is perfect for a romantic getaway! It's so well located to everything, including downtown Hot Springs, Ark! Would definitely stay here again!"

  • Family Reunion

"We rented this nicely furnished home for 5 days and 4 nights. The layout of the kitchen and living room lend themselves to entertaining. I love to cook and so was still able to feel apart of all the goings on. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils and cookware. My husband and I enjoyed morning coffee on the deck. The view of the lake is spectacular. It was so fun listening to the birds and seeing cardinals once again. Our grandsons and son had a great time swimming in the lake. My youngest grandson counted all 209 steps down to the lake. There is a well stocked grocery store on the north side of town. One night we all watched the DVD "On Golden Pond". It just seemed so appropriate to this home. Thanks so much for sharing this with all of us."

  • Lake Living

"I have been going to Hardy since childhood at a YWCA camp, so it has special meaning to me. This is the first time I have rented a place, as I have friends I usually stay with, and I invited my son and daughter-in-law for the weekend. I arrived the first night with a girlfriend, and we were so impressed with everything. We sat on the deck as the sun went down, watching an amazing sky filled with lightening in the distance (no thunder), which illuminated and reflected off the lake. It couldn't have been a better introduction to the house. The two back bedrooms facing the lake have terrific views, so in the early morning it was equally beautiful seeing mist rising from the water. The location is quiet, and the homes adjacent and across the lake are well-maintained. I have skied Lake Thunderbird, so I am familiar with the layout. This little cove is too shallow for motorboats, but it can handle pontoon, or paddle boats. I used my canoe to paddle over to see friends who live on the lake. The cove is also too shallow for swimming, but I would gather the Summer months would make that a good thing when there is so many boats coming and going. The home is decorated as if it were a private home, and not a typical rental unit. The kitchen was even stocked with a KitchenAid mixer, which really surprised me. The appliances were top-notch. The bedding was cute, the decor was well-done, the bathrooms clean and nicely appointed. The house is clean-as-a-whistle. I had some leftover cake from a party, and actually found a cake plate with a cake dome to cover it; and I also needed scissors for a gift, and found them in a drawer. I noticed bandaids in the medicine cabinet, including large size toiletries. A lot of thought went into stocking this house. My only suggestions would be a hand-rail inside the bathtub (it was hard to get up without one); a full-length mirror; and the driveway swept clear of the Hickory nuts at this time of year. I swept it as I was afraid someone might slip on one, plus, they are very messy as they are driven over. All-in-all, I couldn't have asked for a better place to be in the Hardy area. (Oh, and it was nice to have a dog-friendly home for well-behaved pets. Its obvious the owners love dogs from all their great pictures and decor.) I would most certainly rent this lovely home again should the occasion arise, and will recommend it to friends."

  • Former residents visit friends

"Having lived in the Village for 17 years with a heat pump, we were not surprised that we could not keep the house warm enough with the unseasonably cold weather, but it was uncomfortable. We found that the smaller bedroom was warmer and avoided the master bedroom. Because it was so cold and snowed, it would have been nice to be able to use the garage. Otherwise, the home is very attractive and supplied with the necessities. We especially enjoyed the "throws" in the living-room ottoman."
