  • enjoyable stay

"Cozy cottage with oerfect space for our small family. Fishing pier within an easy walk down the hill. Even caught a fish ;). Loved the living room with the big picture windows and sky lights. There's a huge potted live tree in that room that I loved. The soaking tub on the back porch was nice and rustic. You're in the woods so, in the summer, be prepared for the insects. Seemed everytime we got in the car we'd have extra friends along for the ride. Ken, the owner, was friendly and easy to reach. Must stop by Heifer Ranch tgata nearby to learn about their international charity work. Had a wonderful time."

"Wonderful little cottage with gracious host. Full kitchen on sight as well as laundry. Plenty of room inside and out to spread out."

  • Lake Living

"I have been going to Hardy since childhood at a YWCA camp, so it has special meaning to me. This is the first time I have rented a place, as I have friends I usually stay with, and I invited my son and daughter-in-law for the weekend. I arrived the first night with a girlfriend, and we were so impressed with everything. We sat on the deck as the sun went down, watching an amazing sky filled with lightening in the distance (no thunder), which illuminated and reflected off the lake. It couldn't have been a better introduction to the house. The two back bedrooms facing the lake have terrific views, so in the early morning it was equally beautiful seeing mist rising from the water. The location is quiet, and the homes adjacent and across the lake are well-maintained. I have skied Lake Thunderbird, so I am familiar with the layout. This little cove is too shallow for motorboats, but it can handle pontoon, or paddle boats. I used my canoe to paddle over to see friends who live on the lake. The cove is also too shallow for swimming, but I would gather the Summer months would make that a good thing when there is so many boats coming and going. The home is decorated as if it were a private home, and not a typical rental unit. The kitchen was even stocked with a KitchenAid mixer, which really surprised me. The appliances were top-notch. The bedding was cute, the decor was well-done, the bathrooms clean and nicely appointed. The house is clean-as-a-whistle. I had some leftover cake from a party, and actually found a cake plate with a cake dome to cover it; and I also needed scissors for a gift, and found them in a drawer. I noticed bandaids in the medicine cabinet, including large size toiletries. A lot of thought went into stocking this house. My only suggestions would be a hand-rail inside the bathtub (it was hard to get up without one); a full-length mirror; and the driveway swept clear of the Hickory nuts at this time of year. I swept it as I was afraid someone might slip on one, plus, they are very messy as they are driven over. All-in-all, I couldn't have asked for a better place to be in the Hardy area. (Oh, and it was nice to have a dog-friendly home for well-behaved pets. Its obvious the owners love dogs from all their great pictures and decor.) I would most certainly rent this lovely home again should the occasion arise, and will recommend it to friends."

  • Comfortable and Friendly

"Thank you Gary and Cerise! Our stay at the rental house was perfect. With 4 kids it can be difficult to find affordable accommodations for vacations so the price was great and everyone slept comfortably both nights we stayed. The kids had a blast playing badminton and eating s'mores around the campfire. My wife and I were very pleased with the all room to fit everyone comfortably. Everyone really liked the New Orleans style snowballs (a must if you are ever in the area). Being located so close to the Crater of Diamonds State Park was ideal for taking a short break to return to the house for lunch. The digging equipment you had worked perfectly, saved us on the rental fees at the park and meant we could dig a little longer because we could use the equipment right up to closing time. We wish we had planned a longer trip to have time to take a walk up the street and poke through all the fun little shops in town, next time. We could not have asked for friendlier or more accommodating hosts. You have a great place and I will not hesitate to stay with you again the next time we are in the area. I recommend the Budget Diamond Hunters House to anyone looking for a place to stay in Murfreesboro, Arkansas."
