"We met family from Nebraska for a family weekend, well, and a Razorback game as well :) This house was so "homey", right down to the board games we found. Very relaxing and beautiful. We probably spent as much time on the decks out back as we did in the house. And the location can not be beat. We were able to take great pictures of the stadium lit up red at night from the deck.
The owners were very attentive and accomodating from the booking process through to checkout. This has become our new place to be when in Fayetteville."

"I got together with a group of eight women...we wanted to visit Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville. It was nice to be "out" of town with the beautiful views of the lake and an easy drive back to see the museum. The owners were quite responsive to our needs and the house was very clean. The house was supplied with enough plates, glasses, towels, etc for our big group. We cooked our meals at the house and found out prior to our arrival that we would need to bring basic cooking ingredients...you never know about that so we have learned to ask before arrival. Grocery shopping needs to be done in Rogers before you get out to the lake. The bird watching at the feeders is a plus."

"For us, a trip to Sophia House is not a matter of loading the car and hitting the road to Arkansas. It involves a 20,000 mile round trip from Canberra in Australia. A trip which involves seventeen hours sitting on a plane from Sydney to Dallas Fort Worth. We have just returned from our third trip to Sophia House and there may be more to come.
Our son and his family live in Dallas and we have three delightful grandchildren that we never see enough of. Their home life revolves around sporting commitments, a home business and the demands that young children make and the challenges to keep them amused and so on. We needed a place where we could leave all this behind and focus upon developing that all important bond with our grandkids.
Sophia House was THE gift from heaven. A place where we could leave online diversions and the TV behind. We spent hours down the river the "boys" all keen catch and release fishermen while the littlies were happily playing in the water and watching the fish and the little river turtle that my wife found while snorkelling. And there were comfortable chairs under a shady tree where we could all relax with a drink and enjoy each other's company yarning away.
The house is very comfortable, well equipped and the seven of us never felt that we were cramped for room. Our lovely hostess Jane and her team keep the house spotless and the welcoming basket of goodies plus the flowers for my wife's birthday were an unexpected bonus.
Sitting on the timber deck in the evening and again in the morning with a coffee, you may see deer, squirrels, raccoons and other wildlife. There is a variety of bird life on site also.
But what really makes Sophia House so "different" is the aura of calm and peace that it generates. It has an ambience that I have rarely encountered during our travels world wide. This was an asset when bonding with the family that you haven't seen for two and a half years. A few moments in quiet reflection inside the little chapel also adds to this sense of calm and peace.
Having said this, why are we planning to return? Because it is a wonderful place for a family to get away from the rat race and be refreshed both in body and soul. Once you have adjusted from the tempo of your daily life to that offered by Sophia House and absorbed what it has to offer, you will be left with memories that will stay with you for years.
As we Aussies say. Give it a go, mate. It's a ripper!"
