  • Slice of heaven

"If you are looking to get out of the big city, get away from all the noise pollution, and relax, Diamond K is the place for you. The star shine at night was exceptional, the place was immaculate, homey, but not kitschy. Everything we needed was supplied. Jerry was great as he welcomed us with fresh sausage and fig preserves. Then returned with fresh eggs. I would recommend this property to anyone wanting the ultimate get away from it all. Yet it's only 10 minutes from town."

  • Perfect weekend!

"My siblings and I had not gotten together for many years and were in search or a property that fit us. We had people traveling from Austin, TX, Waco, TX, Nashville, TN, and even Los Angeles. Arkansas seemed like good middle ground and after searching over the available properties we settled on this one. The combination if price/size/amenities was great and we are very glad we chose this property. The financials were straight forward and I promptly received the security deposit once things were clears by Tom (the property manager). There were plenty of rooms and places to sleep to where all of our siblings and their little ones had their own space to themselves. Even with our large group the three bathrooms worked great. Also, the AC was awesome and we were always cool in the house. Check in was painless and Tom met me to show me around and give me the basic run down. Since we were such a big group we cooked all our meals at the house which worked out perfect. They have pretty much everything we needed from pot/pans/flatware/cups/blender etc. they even had some spices that came in handy (they just ask you replace something if you use it all). The large dinner table was great and accommodated our whole group so we could enjoy each other company during meals. The home is directly on lake Hamilton which was great swimming for the kiddos and for relaxing with some cold beer for the adults. I will say the lake is very deep even just off the bank. That being said, we brought floats so it worked perfect. There is a fence with a gate up closer to the home to keep the kiddos away from the water so that calmed the parents worries. We were a short 10 min drive from downtown Hot Springs were we went to some shops and saw the bath houses. We also went to the Nat'l park where we hiked up the big hill. The family that came in from LA had about an hour drive from the Little Rock airport since no flights came into the small airport in Hot Springs. I accidentally left an expensive watch in the room where I stayed and I promptly notified Tom. Tom found it and mailed it back to me without hesitation and paid for the shipping even after I offered to pay. All in all the stay was ideal and all parties that joined us felt the same. We had a great time and look forward to possibly making this a annual or biannual tradition. Thanks Tom!"

The Little Rock National Airport is the largest airport in Arkansas. The airport hosts most major airlines in North America and has regular commercial connections to most major cities in the U.S. There are three smaller regional airports that host domestic and regional flights in and around the state. These can be found in Texarkana, Fort Smith and the Northwest region. For a more leisurely way to get around, why not do part of your journey on the Texas Eagle railroad? The route runs through the state of Arkansas from the northeast to the southwest, and stops in towns and cities such as Walnut Ridge, Little Rock, Malvern and Texarkana. The train runs twice daily. Because of the many outdoor attractions, most people like to drive around Arkansas. If you are not traveling by car from your hometown, you can arrange a rental from any one of the regional airports.

Best Season to Travel to Arkansas

The majority of Arkansas enjoys a humid subtropical climate which results in hot humid summers and cold dry winters. The northern regions of the state have a more temperate climate, owing to the higher elevation and mountainous regions. Your season of choice for traveling will largely depend on what activities you want to do. The winter months see snow over most of the northern region and snow sports can be enjoyed. In the summertime, the rainfall generally is characterized by dramatic thunderstorms which are relatively short-lived. As long as you are adequately prepared for rain, summertime is a great time of year to explore the many natural attractions that the state has to offer.
