  • We Loved It

"The Abella Garden Inn was the PERFECT place for our group of eight couples to enjoy a few days vacationing in the California Central Coast. The Inn is beautiful, very comfortable, impeccably clean and neat, and has plenty of space. We loved the very large dining room for our eat-in meals, the large great room and outside patio for socializing, and our individually decorated, spacious bedrooms, each having a full bath. And the fact that all of the rooms were under one roof made it feel as if we were in someone’s home. It was also an ideal home base from which to experience a variety of activities. For those of us into tasting wine, the Inn is located within 40 minutes of the great wineries in the Paso Robles area to the north as well as those existing in the Santa Ynez Valley to the south--and many in between. Members of the group spent time at the beach (Pismo Beach and Avila Beach), but because of our senior status skipped the ATVs that are popular down the beach along the dunes. Some found a wonderful off-road bike trail near Avila Beach, where they rented both regular and electric-assist bikes. Also there are plenty of good places to eat in the area, and the famous San Luis Obispo Street Fair on Thursday nights is a must. But during much of our evening time, we just sat around the Inn catching up with old friends. The owner, Gina, is quite personable and organized as well as hard working and very proud of her property. When we checked in, she had everything ready for us on time. She gave us a tour, explained where everything was, and simply requested that we treat her property as they would their own. Before arriving, a couple of us had wondered if there would be any effect resulting from the Inn’s close proximity to Highway 101. Happily we soon found that street noise was hardly noticeable anywhere inside and was not even a significant factor when sitting and talking outside on the back patio or gazebo. In fact, its location was a positive for us, since it took only a few minutes from our private parking lot to get on the highway where we scattered to various daily activities. EVERYONE LOVED the Abella Garden Inn and hopes to return."

  • Fabulous Home.

"This is a beautiful and wonderfully furnished home. The decor is very upscale and yet it is incredibly comfortable and inviting. We had a wonderful time with our entire family and the home certainly contributed to our enjoyment."

"I don't even know where to begin. This is one of those places that the pictures do not do it justice!! The property, the house and most of all Sandy, Jorge and their kids were all wonderful. And best of all we were able to bring our little dog Max. Max enjoyed the open space along with the goats and pigs as much as we did. (ps I think the goats and pigs were cleaning than Max) Wine tasting was the first agenda on our list when we planned our trip, but after we got to house everything changed. We ended up relaxing most of the morning on the great porch which overlooked the valley and you could even see the ocean and dunes . We ended up staying in at night and cooking (thanks to my Sister in law) after a trip to the wonderful farmers market in Arroyo Grande. Ok yes we did end up hitting quite a few wineries on our way exploring the beautiful country side. Sandy also told us about a great dog beach we went to on Sunday which we all enjoyed very much. I only wish VRBO had an additional star called Excellent, Excellent, Excellent!! So I give this place 6 stars. Thank you again Sandy and Jorge for making our weekend so wonderful. Hope to see you soon! Judy,Craig,Liz & Max"
