  • Dreamy house

"We had a perfect stay at this cozy, spacious, bright home just on the outskirts of town. My mother found the rigorous uphill walk back from the beach a bit strenuous, but we enjoyed weaving through the little streets to see the charming story book homes. We found the house very clean and accommodating. I could definitely recommend this lovely home for anyone staying in Carmel."

  • A Wonderfully Unique and Memorable Get-Away

"Though we were only a few hours away from home, our stay at The Hacienda made us feel as though we had escaped into another land. The intricate carvings, rich colors, and incredibly unique artifacts and art pieces from around the world gave The Hacienda an edge that we had never seen before. We feel so blessed to have been able to make such lovely memories in such a beautiful place. The setting was gorgeous! Nestled on a hilltop with a magnificent view of the ocean and the towns below. The location is extremely quiet other than the surrounding nature and very private. The temperatures during our stay were a welcome change from the 100+* weather from which we'd come. We had highs of roughly 73* and lows in the 50*'s, accompanied by the fog that rolled in every afternoon. We enjoyed the hot tub and sauna, and sat by the roaring glow of the fire each night. The treasured time with our family while roasting s'mores and listening to our favorite tunes on the outdoor speakers will be remembered fondly. The Hacienda is located only a short distance from Monterey, Carmel, Carmel Valley, Point Lobos and 17 Mile Drive. The owners were incredibly gracious and were available any time we needed them, while still providing our group with the space to explore the property and feel as though we had the entire hill and surrounding land to ourselves. Overall we could not have asked for a more unique and memorable get-away than here at The Hacienda."

  • absolutely charming

"What a beautiful studio for the last few nights of our two week California vacation. The comfortable furniture allowed us to relax a bit after our day out and before we went out for dinner. The wine left for us was the perfect touch. Leaving coffee for us to brew and not rush out in the morning was such a lovely touch. No complaints at all. Highly recommend."

  • Beachwalk in Carmel

"My husband and I just returned from our second stay at Beachwalk and we had a fantastic time. We have rented other houses in Carmel over the years, but this is by far our favorite. First is the location. It is technically a few blocks south of Carmel-by-the-Sea proper, but that is a huge plus because you are out of the busy, crowded, touristy area and in a peaceful spot still walking distance to the shops and restaurants. It is just 4 blocks or so to the Carmel River beach which is one end of Scenic Drive, as well. Gorgeous views from the beach of Point Lobos, Carmel Beach and Pebble Beach. I walk or run Scenic Drive every morning from Carmel Point to Carmel Beach and it is an incredible way to start the day. Also, the location is very convenient for day trips, shopping etc. since you can easily scoot out of town the back way past the Mission and avoid all of the downtown traffic on Ocean Ave. The house itself is great. It has a recently renovated modern kitchen, a large open living room and dining area, ceiling to floor windows, sky lights that keep the house bright and airy, 2 bedrooms and 2 baths. We especially enjoy sitting outside in the beautiful courtyard/garden area which is equipped with propane heaters to take the crispiness out of Carmel evenings. We like to shop at the farmer's market on Carmel Valley Road and grill in a couple of times. And of course, there's tons to do. If you're outdoorsy there is running, hiking at Point Lobos, rent a bike at Bay Bikes, learn to surf, and golf (of course). You can drive south to Big Sur, north to Santa Cruz, explore Monterrey and the aquarium, or drive into Carmel Valley and visit wineries. And there are a lot of shopping opportunities as well."
