  • Perfect

"We were very happy with the house and would stay there again in a heartbeat! Our party was 5 adults. Having 3 bedrooms (one queen and two kings)and 3 endnote bathrooms was perfect for our needs. The third bedroom is accessed by way of the second bedroom. As there is a sliding door opening onto the terrace and then through another door into the house which we used to avoid the privacy issues. The house is well appointed although we only cooked one meal it was nice to know that the kitchen was more than adequate. The house is clean and quiet. It's a little dated but that doesn't deter from the comfort that the house provides. There is parking for 2 cars which was ample. The walk to Carmel town centre takes about 25 minutes. The homeowners are very pleasant. We had a very minor issue (couldn't find the coffee maker) which was addressed and sorted within hours."

  • Magic at Monastery Beach

"We have stayed in all three cottages for more than a decade. Each visit is better than the prior year's. Our children were small when we started renting and they're now in their early twenties. Our family and our friends' families all look forward to these escapes. Highlights are night hikes along the coast, Point Lobos hikes, Big Sur hikes, Palo Corona hikes, Mill Creek hikes, Garland Ranch hikes, and Monterey Bay crab.....Recently we've spotted condors, dolphins, whales of several types, otters, sea lions, and seals. Mass across the street at the Monastery is special for those so inclined. A very special place that has been cared for lovingly. Thank you!"

  • Quail's Nest

"We have stayed in many VRBO properties over the years! Love, love, love this house! Erik the owner is top notch with everything. There were so many extras included! Starbucks coffee, chocolates, supplies if you forgot anything! The Carmel area is a great place to visit & we lived all of Erik's recomendations. Hiking, beach walking, sunsets, Big Sur, Point Lobos & feeding his birds! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay & we know we'll come back! Thank you!"

  • Beachwalk in Carmel

"My husband and I just returned from our second stay at Beachwalk and we had a fantastic time. We have rented other houses in Carmel over the years, but this is by far our favorite. First is the location. It is technically a few blocks south of Carmel-by-the-Sea proper, but that is a huge plus because you are out of the busy, crowded, touristy area and in a peaceful spot still walking distance to the shops and restaurants. It is just 4 blocks or so to the Carmel River beach which is one end of Scenic Drive, as well. Gorgeous views from the beach of Point Lobos, Carmel Beach and Pebble Beach. I walk or run Scenic Drive every morning from Carmel Point to Carmel Beach and it is an incredible way to start the day. Also, the location is very convenient for day trips, shopping etc. since you can easily scoot out of town the back way past the Mission and avoid all of the downtown traffic on Ocean Ave. The house itself is great. It has a recently renovated modern kitchen, a large open living room and dining area, ceiling to floor windows, sky lights that keep the house bright and airy, 2 bedrooms and 2 baths. We especially enjoy sitting outside in the beautiful courtyard/garden area which is equipped with propane heaters to take the crispiness out of Carmel evenings. We like to shop at the farmer's market on Carmel Valley Road and grill in a couple of times. And of course, there's tons to do. If you're outdoorsy there is running, hiking at Point Lobos, rent a bike at Bay Bikes, learn to surf, and golf (of course). You can drive south to Big Sur, north to Santa Cruz, explore Monterrey and the aquarium, or drive into Carmel Valley and visit wineries. And there are a lot of shopping opportunities as well."
