  • Serene and beautiful location in Carmel

"Downtown Carmel can be crazy busy so coming home to beautiful Enchanted Oaks was a real pleasure. The guest house is lovely with two comfortable couches with views of the oak trees out every window. The kitchen has everything you need to make three meals a day if you choose. We recommend Lafayette, a French bakery in the Barnyard, a shopping center very close by. We also liked 400 degrees in Carmel for burgers and fries. We took a short hike in the MIssion Trail Park with our 7 month old Airedale and really enjoyed the peace and quiet of the area. The dog beach is great too. We highly recommend Enchanted Oaks for its value, amenities and overall serene vibe."

  • Spacious, fun, and eclectic

"I booked this rental for me and 8 other girls for my friend's bachelorette weekend in Santa Barbara. The location was great, close to downtown and the beach. A few of the girls also discovered a 2-mile running trail with a big hill in the neighborhood. All of the girls, especially the bride-to-be, loved the place. The decor was fun and eclectic. We had a good time discovering new art and trinkets each day, like the oinking pigs in the upstairs bedroom. The kitchen was very well stocked and spacious enough to hold all of us plus a cooking instructor for the cooking class we booked. There is a ping pong table downstairs in the backyard, and a deck upstairs. The dining room table was big enough to accommodate all of us with plenty of room to eat, play cards, and chat. The only problem was the pull-out couch downstairs, which was quite lumpy and crooked/angled when pulled out. This meant one person had to sleep on the hard upstairs couch, which was not so comfortable. This aside, I would highly recommend this rental if you are considering hosting a lot of people for a weekend!"

  • Beachwalk in Carmel

"My husband and I just returned from our second stay at Beachwalk and we had a fantastic time. We have rented other houses in Carmel over the years, but this is by far our favorite. First is the location. It is technically a few blocks south of Carmel-by-the-Sea proper, but that is a huge plus because you are out of the busy, crowded, touristy area and in a peaceful spot still walking distance to the shops and restaurants. It is just 4 blocks or so to the Carmel River beach which is one end of Scenic Drive, as well. Gorgeous views from the beach of Point Lobos, Carmel Beach and Pebble Beach. I walk or run Scenic Drive every morning from Carmel Point to Carmel Beach and it is an incredible way to start the day. Also, the location is very convenient for day trips, shopping etc. since you can easily scoot out of town the back way past the Mission and avoid all of the downtown traffic on Ocean Ave. The house itself is great. It has a recently renovated modern kitchen, a large open living room and dining area, ceiling to floor windows, sky lights that keep the house bright and airy, 2 bedrooms and 2 baths. We especially enjoy sitting outside in the beautiful courtyard/garden area which is equipped with propane heaters to take the crispiness out of Carmel evenings. We like to shop at the farmer's market on Carmel Valley Road and grill in a couple of times. And of course, there's tons to do. If you're outdoorsy there is running, hiking at Point Lobos, rent a bike at Bay Bikes, learn to surf, and golf (of course). You can drive south to Big Sur, north to Santa Cruz, explore Monterrey and the aquarium, or drive into Carmel Valley and visit wineries. And there are a lot of shopping opportunities as well."
