  • A perfect week of fun and relaxation on the coast!

"We really enjoyed our stay on Chestnut Street! We actually could walk to everything; shops, restaurants, beaches. Even our teenagers loved climbing the cool rocks and exploring tide pools on the shore. The house was amazingly clean, the beds were are as comfortable as everyone says, and it is SO CUTE! LOVED the fluffy towels and soaps provided. Very nice not to have to buy all the essentials right away, including laundry soap, spices and condiments. Special touches that make this place very guest friendly. We even had a spontaneous reunion with friends who live a couple hours away that we haven't seen in 15 years. We used the grill and had everything we needed to comfortably seat 10 adults and teens, plus little ones. The teens had a blast walking to the wax museum (who knew?!) and the kiddos loved the Dennis the Menace park just over in Monterey, where the Aquarium is a must see also. The Red House and Fandangos were lovely lunch and dinner "dates" for me and my husband (and a reasonable walking distance from our location), while the kids ordered pizza and played games at the house. Such a nice neighborhood! We loved this charming, comfortable home in this peaceful little town on the peninsula, and would definitely stay here again. We especially appreciated our host being flexible and willing accommodate our shifting travel plans. What a special vacation!"

  • Comfortable Stay

"My two year old son, close friend and myself had a great stay at this very comfortable home in Pacific Grove. The house is incredibly well set-up for young children. There were toys and a coloring table that my son enjoyed playing at. Everything is close by: the beach, restaurants, shops and the Aquarium. There was a nice playground within walking distance and the 2 free passes to the Aquarium came in handy. We love staying in Pacific Grove because of its proximity to Monterey and Carmel. We've stayed at a few other places in the past but would absolutely stay at this charming, clean, well-maintained house again. Centrally located, yet quiet and easy access to all beaches, it's the perfect getaway!"

  • First time visit

"For the price, this little home was a great value. Close to beach and downtown Pacific Grove. We walked everywhere, including the Monterey Aquarium and picnics to the beach. We never got into the car for three days until we went to Carmel to attend mass at the Mission. The entertainment system provided many choices but the remote needed batteries which were replaced right away by the property mgt company. The instructions should be rewritten; a little confusing. The only big negative of the house is the back room with the washer/dryer and small bathroom. The floor needs to be rebuilt and bathroom needs some repairs to make it more usable. Nice workable kitchen, but bring your sharp knives. We didn't mind the parking lot across the street as visiting relatives were able to park there when we went for our many walks. We weren't paying for a front view anyway; as we weren't there to "stay put" but explore the area. Overall, a fabulous trip and we would rent it again."

  • Great location, price, and owners!!!

"We had a wonderful time at this house! It was old but clean and welcoming. We had 5 ladies and were each able to have our own bed. The location is within walking/biking distance to lovers point, and an easy bike ride to downtown monterey and asilomar beach. I recommend staying here. We had a group of 5 ladies and the house was big enough for each to have their own space. To welcome us, the owners placed fresh flowers in the kitchen and dining room and a bottle of wine in the fridge - such a nice touch. But the most amazing thing was how the owners responded when one of our ladies got hurt on a bike ride. After leaving the ER and determining that we should get her home to her family as soon as possible, i contacted the owner and informed him that we would be leaving early and the circumstance of our early departure. He was kind and generous through our trauma to credit us a full night's stay. Then, in our haste packing up the lady who got hurt, we ended up taking one of the house towels and accidentally leaving her special pj's from her alma matter. The owner was so helpful and shipped the pj's to us while we shipped the towel back to him. We will definitely be staying at this house again when we continue our girls weekend after all are healthy and mobile again. The location, price, cleanliness, and charm of this old house are worth returning to! And the ease of working with the owner, his compassion, and willingness to go the extra mile in our emergency make it a no-brainer for returning. I highly recommend staying at this property!"
