"We had a wonderful time at this house! It was old but clean and welcoming. We had 5 ladies and were each able to have our own bed. The location is within walking/biking distance to lovers point, and an easy bike ride to downtown monterey and asilomar beach. I recommend staying here. We had a group of 5 ladies and the house was big enough for each to have their own space. To welcome us, the owners placed fresh flowers in the kitchen and dining room and a bottle of wine in the fridge - such a nice touch. But the most amazing thing was how the owners responded when one of our ladies got hurt on a bike ride. After leaving the ER and determining that we should get her home to her family as soon as possible, i contacted the owner and informed him that we would be leaving early and the circumstance of our early departure. He was kind and generous through our trauma to credit us a full night's stay. Then, in our haste packing up the lady who got hurt, we ended up taking one of the house towels and accidentally leaving her special pj's from her alma matter. The owner was so helpful and shipped the pj's to us while we shipped the towel back to him. We will definitely be staying at this house again when we continue our girls weekend after all are healthy and mobile again. The location, price, cleanliness, and charm of this old house are worth returning to! And the ease of working with the owner, his compassion, and willingness to go the extra mile in our emergency make it a no-brainer for returning. I highly recommend staying at this property!"Guest: keren Date of Stay: June 2014 Review Submitted: July 2, 2014View listing
"When life is stressing us out, this is the place we go to get away from it all. We have been coming over to this home in Pacific Grove for several years, and we never get tired of it. We are walkers and this location is perfect for us, we can walk to dinner and shopping, we can walk out on 17 mile drive, and we can walk to Cannery Row. The master suite has a fabulous water view and the the rest of the home has a cozy, relaxed yet upscale vibe that we just love. The kitchen and bathrooms are always well-stocked and the backyard patio garden has to be seen to be believed, it is gorgeous. It is on a quiet tree lined street, with driveway parking."Guest: Harry & Cyndi Date of Stay: March 2014 Review Submitted: March 13, 2014View listing
"Baby dear in the neighbors yard, dolphins playing in the bay, and the squid boats had the bay lit up like Christmas. My three teenagers couldn't stay away from Cannery row. Everything we wanted to do was walking distance. The home was comfortable for five adults, and the kitchen was big enough to prepare full meals. Having dinner with an ocean view was very cool. There are bay views from most windows. By the end of the week, it felt like home."Guest: WILLIAM M. Date of Stay: June 2014 Review Submitted: July 1, 2014View listing
"This is our second time staying in Pacific Grove and I have to say that I liked this house much more than the last one we stayed at. Being doggy-friendly is our number one issue since we take our furry son everywhere. The upgrades are great, except I can only imagine that the owners are very tall people because everything in the kitchen seemed abnormally tall for 5'2" me (and even tall for the others that I was with that are taller than me) :-). Besides that, there is a beautiful gallery of art on the first level and nice, tall windows by the front door, which my dog enjoyed. Unfortunately, he enjoyed it to look at the several neighborhood cats that seemed to frolic in the front area. Some things that could use improvement: There are a couple areas in the fence out back and the patio area where a smaller dog could sneak out or jump/fall, so we always had to ensure that our dog was on leash outside and even on the patio unless we blocked those areas with some object. My dog is a Jack Russell and he is good at finding spots to sneak out of that you never thought was possible. The back area is small, but could use a little improvement - just bark and a small patio area for the BBQ would be nice. A clean BBQ grill would have been nice too - probably the last people that used it did not clean it. Pillows should probably be replaced for more fluffiness - being 7 mos pregnant, I was glad I brought my pregnancy pillow as the ones there would not have been sufficient for my comfort since they were flat. Tile stairs were a little hard on my joints, but it looked pretty. Stove/oven could be upgraded to match the other beautiful renovations of the kitchen. Perks: Lovely renovations overall, close proximity to restaurants, coffee shops, etc. in Pacific Grove and close proximity to the Monterey Aquarium, wharf, etc. Nice jet tub on bottom floor and nicely renovated bathroom in master as well. Kitchen/dining area is nice and neighborhood is pretty quiet. The aquarium passes were nice and we enjoyed going there. Hope to come back to this place again in the future!"Guest: Dogmom916 Date of Stay: June 2014 Review Submitted: July 7, 2014View listing
