Great Location. Fair Price. Friendly Proprietors. And they allow your Pup!
"The top deck had an amazing view. Bring your binoculars, we saw two whales in the distance feasting and frolicking for hours. We also saw gorgeous sunsets with orange and yellow clouds that looked like they were on fire. Regarding the inside, it is a bit dated and not fancy, but the price reflects that. As long as it is clean, that's all that matters. The beds are good and the bedding fresh and clean. If you have mobility issues, keep in mind that each area of the house is on a different level, with three or more steps to each area for this quad level home. Our pup was also very thankful that she could enjoy this with us instead of being boarded. Walking to the park close by with her was a treat as it connects to the ocean. We look forward to enjoying this place again!"

boutique cottage with down-to-earth, attentive, generous host
"The cottage could easily be featured in a design magazine..the decor is tasteful, colorful and a feast for the eyes. Janet has thought of everything: FREE bikes, water bottles at the bedside, a bottle of wine, discount tabs for all the local stores and fresh eggs from her chickens (which by the way, you do not even know they are on the property). Our first night, we had trouble with the grill and Janet had it fixed in 20 minutes. I am not one for the beach, so the convenience of the beach being so close enabled my husband to go enjoy while I stayed behind reading a book. All sight-seeing is within a short bike or taxi ride. Would highly recommend and would definately go back...eager to see how the other cottages are decorated. The only thing to be aware of is the alternate side of the street parking, which Janet has also done a great job in displaying a warning sign on the fridge....Santa Barbara police like to give tickets."

"I stayed at the Flying Caballos Guest Ranch Cottage for three nights this past week/weekend. This was my second time in SLO and I am so thrilled I was able to stay at Flying Caballos. Wish I had found them the first time I was in SLO, it would have made a huge difference in my stay. The Cottage was everything and more! The views from the cottage and from the porch were nothing short of spectacular. We were able to see gorgeous sunsets and awe-inspiring sunsets- yes, I jumped out of bed- in my p.j.'s and ran outside to capture the rapture of the sunrise. The cottage was everything as described and more- quiet, picturesque, and relaxing. The bed and the fold out couch were very comfortable and the bathroom and shower were great as well. We did most of our own cooking so the kitchen was of max importance to us. It was wonderful to sit at the table by the window and partake in eating while watching the beauty of the outdoors. The ranch is within 10 minutes - at the most- from downtown SLO, minutes from a major supermarket and other amenities, and a few minutes from a natural food store as well. The location is central to all the things you might want to do while in SLO and its vicinity. The owner/manager have put together a comprehensive book of things to do and places to go. Do not miss the Farmers' Markets in the area, especially Thursday evening in downtown SLO. I cannot wait to go back to SLO and stay at the Cottage again."
