"This rental was perfect for our 1 month stay in SLO. The location is within easy walking distance to restaurants, theaters and shopping. The home is very comfortable with a great king-sized bed, well equipped kitchen and a cozy living area. The off street parking is secure and easily accessible. Thanks to Kathy and Chelsea for their help in making our stay so enjoyable."

  • Spacious well equiped home for a sunny vacation

"First, I must say the home is larger than the pictures make it appear. There is plenty of room for 3 couples to share the home and still have time to themselves. The kitchen is well equiped and there are many areas to choose for dining outside or inside. We stayed for 1 week and did a lot of cycling. Great rides in all directions to Morro Bay (fav ride) Pismo Beach, Avilo Beach or Lopez Lake. The landscaped back yard is the centerpeice in my opinion. Come back after a days adventure to use the hot tub and enjoy a glass of wine . Todd's home is close enough to shopping and the town center and far enough away to get some peace and quite. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in SLO."

  • 50th Birthday Celebration with friends; new and old - great memories created!!

"I can't say enough about what an amazing experience we had at Cottontail Creek Ranch! It was the perfect location for a long weekend to celebrate my best friends Birthday! The accommodations were exactly what wee needed for a large group of 13, everything was very clean and updated. The kitchen was ideal for seating a large group with everything you could need to entertain. We spent a wonderful afternoon wine tasting in Paso Robles which was only 15 minutes away. The fire pit was a favorite gathering place at the end of the evening - it was so peaceful and the stars were amazing! The owner, Susan was very personable and made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. She even gave us a personal truck tour of the property that offered breath taking views of the ocean and Moro Bay! We had such a great time and would definitely return again!!!"

  • Best Value for the Location

"My husband, our three kids, and I were quite contented in this little home away from home. As others have noted, it's a simple, humble, old school dwelling with quirks, but it's quite cozy and has just about everything you need...except a working corkscrew, but that was easy enough to pick up down the road. The TV in the master bedroom doesn't work right (volume has to be turned on full blast), but that didn't affect us, since we used the one in the living room (we never even tested out the one in the kids' room). The hot tub was great, the view from the backyard can't be beat - Morro Rock + hummingbirds & butterflies on a flowering bush. The sunsets, unfortunately, are obscured by large trees on that side, but that's the price of privacy. Speaking of which, the house on the left side (whose deck/windows face the hot tub) is also a vacation rental, so it's kind of a wild card as far as noise goes - we had some loud neighbors for a few days, and the walls are thin, but since were mostly out and about during the day, zoned out on TV at night, it wasn't much of a problem. There were some ants, but ant poison was conveniently left on the counter, so my husband used that to contain/eradicate them, and it did the trick without much hassle. All the appliances we used worked fabulously - microwave, DVD player, washer/dryer (very handy, especially for towels), and stove. There were lots of cooking staples, and we used a few, but the spice cupboard needs some clean up - sticky, jumbled, just basically neglected. The dishes/utensils are eclectic. A lot of mismatched china, which we weren't sure was microwave save, so I'd recommend bringing your own favorite mug, knife, etc., if you are at all picky about kitchen stuff. The house is clean and spacious - large living/dining/kitchen area - with a wood stove that was a delight to use, though it was really too hot this time of year for that. The kids liked the selection of games and had fun playing Life. The master bed - king size - is unbelievably comfortable. Seriously the best bed in my four decades of sleeping (full disclosure: I can't remember my crib). What else? Did I mention central location? Basically ten minutes or less to SLO, Pismo, Morro Bay, and not much further to Atascadero, Paso Robles, Cambria, San Simeon. We actually liked Los Osos itself - Nichols Pizza (w/family friendly arcade), Sylvester's Burgers, and of course Montana De Oro / Spooner's Cove. Thanks, Jean!"
