"We stayed two nights, and chose Painted Pony bungalow largely due to its proximity to the Santa Barbara Bowl as we were attending a concert. It was a very easy walk to the Bowl. The neighborhood is charming, quiet and safe. It is also within walking distance (4-5 blocks) to State St., the main entertainment/restaurant area of Santa Barbara. The bungalow itself is also very charming, built 1917 but fully modernized with cable TV, a music setup, and high speed internet. While we didn't eat in, there is a very nice fully equipped kitchen, as well as a gas BBQ. The backyard is very private with trees/bushes shielding neighbors, and there is a large hot tub. There is a mom & pop corner story just a block away, where we got some snacks and newspapers. Beds quite comfortable, and bathroom well appointed, and has a nice shower (important to me!). This will be out "go to" place when we're in SB, especially when with have Bowl tickets. I highly recommend Painted Pony for a quiet unit that is also within walking distance to most SB attractions."

"We came to SB for the Veterans Marathon and wanted a place to accommodate 3 couples comfortably. This place was awesome. It is an older home and some of the furnishings reflect that but in more of quaint way than looking old. It was a nice mixture of older and new furnishings, all very comfortable. The bathrooms and kitchen are all nicely remodeled. Nice size rooms. Large family room with plenty of room for all of us to spread out. The house was very clean and is stocked with a nice selection of movies, games and books. There are also nice TV's in all bedrooms. Plenty of linens and towels. There is a large kitchen table that we were all able to sit around for dinner. We thoroughly enjoyed relaxing and Barbequing steaks in the backyard and soaking in the Jacuzzi after our race. Quiet neighborhood located just a few blocks from the 101 which made our commutes very convenient and only a few blocks from a grocery store.
A few ants in the bathroom when we checked in, most likely from recent rains, but we sprayed and didn't have any further problems. If I had to come up with 1 suggestion or con.... we wanted to eat our dinner outside but the lighting out there was very sparse at the table so we ended up inside. Jill the owner was very easy to work with and responsive. We would definitely come back to this rental if back in the SB area and highly recommend it."

The property manager was very helpful.
The vacation rental was spotless.
I was very happy with the location.
I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental.
Overall, I recommend this vacation rental.
We had a delightful stay at this vacation rental....2 adults and 2 children. The cottage's decor was eclectic and whimsical. The bed was comfortable and the inflatable bed that we found in the closet worked very well for the kids. We didn't need to use the couch that also makes a bed. We grilled on the patio 2 nights and went out to pizza on another. The purpose of our trip was so that our granddaughter could visit the mission for her 4th grade report. The cottage is just a short drive to beautiful Mission Santa Barbara and the downtown area. The staircase down to the beach is literally around the corner. Yes, the steps are steep, but well worth the walk to put your toes in the water and to watch the surfers. I knew that the kitchen didn't have a stovetop so I came prepared with a large electric skillet, but we didn't use it because there there was one at the house. There is also a countertop oven and a 14 cup coffee pot. :-) This house was equipped with everything that we needed and more. Dinner on the garden patio with the little water fountain was so relaxing and the jetted tub was a treat in the evening! We will definitely return for another Santa Barbara adventure!"

"I stayed at this property with a group of friends over New Year's in Santa Barbara, and we cannot stop talking about what a fantastic time we had. The house is in a beautiful, secluded part of the Santa Barbara hills, but getting down to the Mission, State Street and up to hiking trails was still easy. This house was perfect for our group: a great kitchen for big dinners, two barbecues outside, a pool and jacuzzi area perfect for lounging in the hillside scenery, and a wraparound porch for catching sunsets over the ocean. Aaron was easily reachable for any questions we had and we would love to come back any time!"
