Excellent Studio in Great Location
"My wife and I spent 6 nights at Creekside Montecito while exploring the Santa Barbara area. This is a beautifully landscaped property in a quiet (except for the train) neighborhood. It is a short walk to a beach and a 5-minute drive to Coast Village Road, which has several fine restaurants, small shops and a large grocery store (Vons). A ten-minute drive will take you to either Stearn's Wharf or the center of downtown Santa Barbara.
The studio itself is well-decorated and comfortable. It is above the garage so you are separated from the main house. The studio also has a small porch where you can sit and relax above the creek (which is dry, as you would expect during a drought). Although Nicola was not there, Cliff was a gracious host and gave us several good tips about what to see and where to eat.
I wanted to give this property 5 stars, but could not because of several issues. First, we called about an hour before our revival (as instructed). We were surprised to get a voice mail message from Nicola saying she would be travelling until Oct. 15. When we got to the house, there was no one there and no note. No one had returned our call so we left another voice mail message, sent a text, and sent an email. Then we went exploring Santa Barbara until someone got back to us. There was no response after a couple of hours so we returned to the house. Luckily, Cliff was home by this time. Did not understand why the voice mail did not give a number where someone would get back to us. Did not understand why Nicola (or someone) never got back to us at all.
Another issue is that the property is about a block from the railroad tracks. The train came by intermittently both day and night and the train whistle is quite loud. Twice I was awakened around 2am by the train whistle.
Finally, some of the info on the VRBO sie for this property can be misleading. This is a studio and does not have a separate bedroom. This should be obvious from the pictures, but it is described as a 1 bedroom, not a studio, in some places. Also, standard rate is listed as $165 per night, but we were quoted $195 per night.
In conclusion, I think the positives outweigh the negatives for this B&B - at least for a short stay. (There is not a full kitchen, so I would not book this property for longer stays.) We had a good stay and so I would recommend this property to others."

"We are a family of 4 from Germany with 2 girls (12 & 15) and we enjoyed a wonderful week in this lovely house.
The cottage is even more beautiful than on the pictures and it had absolutely all we needed. From several bikes and beach chairs, a fully equipped kitchen with a very nice deck and a BBQ, a great music system with several CDs and DVDs, books, etc, etc. The cottage is very comfortable and tastefully furnished and is located in a nice area.
Cliff was always available for any questions and very helpful, but we did not have actually many questions as the detailed instructions were perfect.
This is a great place for relaxing and we would love to come back as soon as possible!"

"The home is absolutely beautiful. The views from the balcony are amazing to wake up to and little things like the Dutch door in one of the bathrooms by the pool is a charming touch to the home. The home is worth the price and it is perfect for kids that love to swim. Making s'mores by the fire pit while taking in the beach views, and the gorgeous foliage makes for a vacation to remember for years. The interior of the home has some interesting funky furnishings mixed with modern décor. The kitchen is beautiful and is the perfect morning gathering place or coffee on the deck while taking in the palm trees and beach views. This was a great getaway!"

"My Aunt was visiting from out of town and our family decided to enjoy some time in Santa Barbara to do some wine tasting and sight-seeing. The pictures in the listing looked great so we decided to book this home. What can I say that hasn't been said in the previous 5 star reviews? The home was amazing, and the already beautiful pictures didn't do this place justice. Everything about the home, from the furniture to the outdoor landscaping was picturesque. We all felt right at home as the property was very inviting and cozy. The homeowner deserves as 5 star rating also, as she made sure all of our concerns were taken care of. She was friendly, easily accessible, and anticipated all of our needs. Overall, we couldn't have asked for a more enjoyable experience in Montecito/Santa Barbara. We will definitely return in the future."
