Cozy little cottage
"We were so pleased when we drove up and saw this lovely Cottage. Charming, clean, comfy and close to everything. We surely will be back soon."

"As two couples, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Cliff House for the Santa Barbara Veterans Day Half-Marathon weekend. The house is situated just a hop, skip, and a jump from everything that we needed for our time. We enjoyed having a comfortable space to relax both before and after the race, a big and useful kitchen for pre-race carbo-loading and post-race refueling. Cliff was extremely helpful, even trouble shooting for us over the phone when we had blown a fuse (We should have known better! Sorry, Cliff!). Should we find ourselves back in Santa Barbara, we would readily stay here again!"

"If you're looking for a great gathering place for family right on the sand, this is the place. From the large upper deck to a generous supply of beds and quality linens, this place has it all. Perfect view, excellent location, quiet beach. Honestly, I can't imagine a better set-up than his charming home. There are a couple of things we weren't expecting. First, the house looks nothing like the painting featured on the website (other than being blue and white). There is no interior staircase. The lower two bedrooms require a trip outside and down the steps. Not a big deal but I pictured easier access. Plus, the appliances are a bit dated/small for heavy use. However, if you plan to just warm up items or cook small quantities, there shouldn't be a problem. But I have never seen a better supply of cookware, serving pieces, utensils and glassware in any home, rental or otherwise. As with any house built in the 30s there are typical signs of age but the owner is taking obvious steps to stay on top of these (ie. plantation shutters are gradually replacing originals) but the charm far exceeds any minor annoyances. Plus, the rooftop deck alone (also not mentioned in the listing) with its large BBQ, lounge chairs and tables would make renting this property well worth it."
