boutique cottage with down-to-earth, attentive, generous host
"The cottage could easily be featured in a design magazine..the decor is tasteful, colorful and a feast for the eyes. Janet has thought of everything: FREE bikes, water bottles at the bedside, a bottle of wine, discount tabs for all the local stores and fresh eggs from her chickens (which by the way, you do not even know they are on the property). Our first night, we had trouble with the grill and Janet had it fixed in 20 minutes. I am not one for the beach, so the convenience of the beach being so close enabled my husband to go enjoy while I stayed behind reading a book. All sight-seeing is within a short bike or taxi ride. Would highly recommend and would definately go back...eager to see how the other cottages are decorated. The only thing to be aware of is the alternate side of the street parking, which Janet has also done a great job in displaying a warning sign on the fridge....Santa Barbara police like to give tickets."

"This is the second time my husband and I stayed on this property. First time we stayed in the bigger unit facing the front. We decided to stay in the back unit this time, and it has its own unique charm. The back unit opens up to the lovely patio, which is a relaxing garden oasis. The unit itself is bright colorful with designer finishes. The location is awesome, walking distance to delicious restaurants and downtown Santa Barbara. The kitchen is well stocked, you can easily whip up some homemade food with all the equipment provided. We loved using the bikes that are provided, biking to downtown Santa Barbara, and also easy ride to the beach and waterfront.
Caron and Doug are very friendly hosts. They also give great recommendations around the area should you need it. Last year, I forgot a piece of clothing and Caron promptly mailed it back to me. We look forward to staying there again for another relaxing and magical Santa Barbara stay."

"We were SO anxious to visit the property, based on the pictures. And even THEY did not do the property justice: It is a remarkable piece of architecture, from the courtyard fountains to the wrought iron fencing on the balconies. Beautiful views, peaceful evenings, 2 blocks from State St (the main thoroughfare)... and such a *fun* and exciting unit to live in. Owners were great, very communicative and helpful. Inside, everything needed for a comfortable visit was available, from washer/dryer to towels, etc. Would DEFINITELY stay there again. Highly, highly recommended."

"House is small but has everything you'd need for a nice stay. Kitchen is well planned and stackable washer/dryer in kitchen was appreciated. Very walkable to downtown and SB Bowl. Bathroom is tight and would be hard with more than 2-3 people, but everything worked and we had enough room for hanging towels and our toiletries. Wi-if worked great and hot-tub was a nice bonus (used once, at least). Parking was no problem.
We were in town to look for an apartment for our college-aged daughter and this house was the perfect home-base for the four days. Peggy and Eric were great (met both) and would recommend the house for a few people. Do note that there is no a/c - fans were provided and ample for the hot spell while we were in town."
