"This home is everything the other reviews state. However, a warning to be careful of all the objects. We chipped a vase on a small shelf by the front door, so asked for a repair estimate and value. We were never provided either, except being told was extremely valuable. We were given two potential artists, but their work didn't match the vase's signature or medium. The manager apologized and acknowledged she shouldn't have placed it there. The owner kept a significant portion of our deposit without explanation or documentation. That is not right."

"My family had a wonderful time staying in this "magical" house. It is well appointed with many karmic surprises. The thoughtfulness involved was very apparent throughout the house. At every turn, we discovered another artifact from the owners' travels, a piece of art, or a family memento memento deftly displayed. The yard invited peaceful relaxation and offered spaces to cook and converse while relaxing.
Everything from interesting bars and restaurants, liquor and groceries was available at no more than a one to two block walk.
We almost don't want to give away ALL the good points about this house lest it become so popular we won't be able to get on the calendar again.
Thank you Mark and Molly for sharing your beautiful home.10 stars plus!!"

Clean! They thought of everything to make our stay comfortable.
"This is a self-contained suite with a full kitchen, plenty of storage space for travellers belongings, a fully furnished, comfortable living room, with a lovely view of the mountains. There is a full bathroom, complete with bathtub and shower, and a good quality washer and dryer to do laundry. Two comfortable beds with good quality bedding and plenty of extra blankets if needed, are nestled within the living room area. We had our own fenced in back yard, and private entrance to the suite. The back yard is very private and is complete with patio table, umbrella and chairs, and even a real hammock to relax in or take a nap. In the back yard there are shade trees and flowering foliage, as well as lime trees and avocado trees. We enjoyed our breakfast outside in the back yard every morning of our stay. We arrived close to midnight when we arrived, and Clara greeted us with a big smile and welcome. She took us to our suite which is adjacent to her house, and showed us around. We were each given a set of keys, and Clara told us to knock on her door if we needed anything. We didn't, everything had been thought of. We were left to our privacy and only saw Clara once again on the day before we left when we knocked on her door to tell her what time we would be leaving. The location is excellent, there is a market, a drugstore and Trader Joe's all within two or three blocks. Upper State Steet is half a block from Clars's place, and a short ten minute (if that) bus ride will take you right into downtown Santa Barbara. It was a perfect place to stay and we recommend it highly. To"

"Our stay at the Packard guest house was perfect. This is a well appointed private 2 bedroom, 1 bath retreat.
Close to shopping and dining, 5 minutes from the beach. A local park in the neighborhood lends itself to great hikes in the Santa Barbara foothills. A must stay!
