"We just experienced our 4th consecutive spring visit to Carla's Cottages! We always rent the poolside unit for the month of April since it's the largest (2br/2ba) and even though it's just myself, my husband and our dog, It's become our home away from home and lives so large! We cook dinner generally 5-6 nights a week and treat ourselves to dinner out onice in a while...but with a full kitchen we eat three meals a day on the beautiful patio or at our dining room table that seats 4! The location is perfectly situated to access the best hiking and biking trails as well as dog friendly beaches from Summerland to Butterfly! We feel so lucky to have found this special place especially since it is dog friendly! A rare find in Montecito, especially at this price point!"

"Lynn's house was just right for our use with four related adults and our 8 month old grandson. This is a good value in Santa Barbara. The house is small but large enough to have our individual private space. It is well located on The Mesa on a quiet dead-end street. Our walk through the neighborhood to the Douglas Nature Preserve on the cliffs was perfect. It helped that we could see Anacapa, Santa Rosa, Santa Cruz and even San Miguel Island on our three extremely clear days. Views of the ocean were minimal from the house but the sun reflecting on the hillside was wonderful. Like most of Santa Barbara after 4 years of drought the lawns and plants are thirsty for a good rainstorm. We played bocce and enjoyed the hot tub. Nearby Lazy Acres Market was full of tasty food options. Thank you for having this family lodging option in Santa Barbara."

"Bonny the owner was very quick and responsive. The location is perfect, a short drive to town or beach. The house was well kept and tidy. Everything we needed was there. The only confusion we had was the cot. We were thinking of a "cot = pack and play sort of thing" but it turned out to be a small fold up bed. Overall I can only recommend this place!"

Older Couple from Pasadena Falls in Love with Carp!
"What a great place to stay! It's an absolutely beautiful place, and within walking distance of numerous places to eat. Easy drive to others. The beach (long, clean beach with easy free parking––in late September anyway––just down Linden. We're even thinking of taking the train up someday; the little Amtrak station is just a few blocks away. Inside the rental, lovely kitchen, furniture, comfortable bed, really nice reading lights bedside, beautiful bathroom. I'd like to stay longer next time--and come here as often as possible. What a great little town. (I'm afraid I've gotten a little tired of Santa Barbara.) Parking lot just across the street, and a great coffeehouse on the other side of the parking lot! Oh, and stop by the library on your way home: terrific, staffed used bookstore with really fun bargains. (And Clementine's for dinner. Just saying.)"
