"This house is amazing for surf groups. The location right at by pleasure point can't be beat. Nonsurfers enjoyed watching the surfers from the big windows. The surfers at pleasure point were friendly, not localized. The house has all the basics, someone described it as "your uncle's beach house" that's exactly it. It was clean enough for me but my mom wouldn't have liked it. The owner is great, responds really quickly. She kindly provided street parking passes as we had more than 2 cars (parking in the area sucks). Also note that if you don't have AT&T, you will not have cellphone reception in the area so bring a GPS or print out directions. In the house cell reception basically only works in the front yard, but wifi is strong throughout. I wouldn't recommend this house for non-surf groups as it is 20 mins from main SC destinations (boardwalk, redwoods, main bar/restaurant area) with weekend traffic. As soon as my group got back we decided to book the house again that's how much we loved it! But all our desired dates were already sold out, that's how much others love it!"

"the property was nice and my kids and i had a good time overall. The Private Beach access wasn't that great. It was basically a strip of sand on a large rock with waves crashing all around. Interesting to visit but not to use as a beach. The directions to that beach were awful and could be a lot better. Provided directions read 'entrance to the beach is a few doors down'. Didn't say left or right which would have helped but the entrance was in fact about 150 yds down the street. There is a nice beach in Capitola Village that is less than a 10 min walk. I tried knocking on the owners' door for help three times but no one ever answered even though there were cars in the driveway and dogs barking. No working porch light which would have been nice as I came back with my kids a few times after dark."

"Thanksgiving weekend in your lovely home by the beach, Jan, was a delight! Your home is so tastefully designed with a relaxing, beach house feeling to it, and it is warm and inviting. We loved the gas fireplace, and it made for such a cozy gathering by the fire. Twin Lakes Beach is our favorite beach in Santa Cruz and only blocks away! We walked the beach everyday with our dog, rain or shine, and enjoyed strolling around your quiet neighborhood. Cooking in your well-equipped kitchen was a joy. We look forward to many return trips to your home since family is just around the corner from you! What a gem of a home! Thank you for sharing it with us!"

"This historic cute bungalow is located a walk from the beach and a very nice part of town. My wife myself in our three kids stayed here for four days and loved it. The house has everything you need to stay at night you can hear the waves break in the bay. It's an easy walk to most everything you need to go to. We definitely plan i'm staying at this location again."
