"We are a family of three and stayed at the Blacks Beach Retreat to serve as a home base for our visits to UC Santa Cruz, Monterey Aquarium, and Big Sur. The house was a perfect haven for us to return to each afternoon, and there is nothing like falling asleep to the sound of the crashing waves each night. The house is roomy, clean, and has pretty much everything one needs for a vacation near the beach. The state beach itself is just a few hundred feet away from the house and there are also restaurants, a small market and even a farmers market (on Sunday) just down the street to make things very convenient. We would definetly stay here again and want to thank Laurie (who is great to deal with) for extending her home to us as we had a great time at the Blacks Beach Retreat!"Guest: Ron D. "My mom rented this beach house for our family vacation and we all absolutely loved the house! It was very comfortable and cozy, had plenty of room indoors and out, and is in a great location. We walked everywhere...Pleasure Point, Capitola Village, Shadowbrook for a delicious meal...and also rode bikes to the Santa Cruz Harbor. We hope to come back again!"Guest: Sharkham Date of Stay: August 2014 Review Submitted: August 23, 2014View listing
"The 4 of us stayed 9 days. Have to comment on the super comfortable beds, so soft you want to sleep in every morning. Kitchen has quality finishes with very nice dishes, utensils and the best of pots and pans. We loved cooking and eating in our little bungalow. Super nice quiet neighborhood with lots of wild life to see in the meadow and grounds. Loved opening the windows to listen to all the different sounds of the life around us. Surprised at the warm sun on our cheeks while the cool breezes whipped around us in the outdoor patio rocking chairs. Had fun letting our 2 dogs visit the neighbors goats to sniff them couple times each day. The Live Oak Tree, just amazing! While cooking and sipping a glass of wine you can discover this tree from both the kitchen sink and the living room and never get tired of its beauty. My husband did not want to leave, he loved everything about this amazing place. Yes it is about 10 minutes from Santa Cruz but worth it. Felton is a neat little town about 5 minutes drive with a lot to offer without the crowds. We made some day trips to Big Sir and Carmel which were also amazing but could not wait to get back to our little paradise at Ben Lomond Bungalow. Looking forward to a return visit here soon."Guest: donna Date of Stay: August 2014 Review Submitted: September 11, 2014View listing
"We had a small staff retreat gathering at this wonderful vacation home. The entire home and yard are so beautiful that everybody felt relaxed and happy to engage in our work conversations. The kitchen is especially beautiful with lots of space to cook as a group and visit together. It is well-stocked with all the appliances, including an amazing Wolf stove and oven, that anybody could want. Finally the owner and property manager are wonderful - they made everything easy!"Guest: Stanford Program Director Date of Stay: September 2014 Review Submitted: October 6, 2014View listing
